Calvary Evangelical Free Church
Free Church Youth Fellowship
498 White Plains Road
Trumbull, CT 06611

The Free Church Youth Fellowship (FCYF) of Calvary Evangelical Free Church cordially welcomes all youths in grades 7-12. Two distinct programs, the Jr. High group (7 to 8) and Sr. High group (9-12), are designed to meet the unique needs of each group. Each group meets on Tuesday from 7:15-8:30 PM. Singing, interaction, and a devotional based on the Bible begin each meeting which is designed to challenge youth and give practical advice with insight for living.
The devotional is followed by an activity of interest to youth – social, educational, recreational, etc. Activities this past year included hayrides, skiing, ice skating, gym nights, etc. Special events are planned throughout the year including a winter ski retreat, a summer trip to our National Youth Conference (held in places from California to New Jersey), mission trips abroad, and District Competitions in music, art, drama, writing, speech, and multi-media. Service projects are an important aspect of the program. There are special services led by the teens with the homeless, handicapped, and senior citizens. For more information call Scott Craddock, Youth Pastor 268-3750 or checkout the web at www.calvaryefc.com.

St Theresa Parish Youth Group
5301 Main Street
Trumbull, CT 06611

Pope John Paul II once addressed the youth of the world and said, “We wonder and ask, why? Why am I here? Why am I alive at all? What must I do? None of you is alone in posing these questions.” The St. Theresa Youth Group exists for Catholic teenagers who strive to answer these fundamental questions posed by every young person. In doing so, the St. Theresa Youth Group provides a safe, Christ-centered environment in which teenagers can openly discuss and deepen their faith and tackle these and all questions regarding the life of a young Christian. The core team of committed adults supports the youth and is an integral link between the priest, the youth and the community whom they serve.

The primary goal of the St. Theresa Youth Group is to provide a healthy, enjoyable environment for teenagers that will allow them:
1. To foster a deep love and devotion to the Eucharist during the celebration of the Mass and in prayer.
2. To serve the local and parish communities through various service projects.
3. To deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and to see how that faith touches their lives.
4. To learn about themselves during this crossroad of their lives so that they can live happily, accept responsibility and play an active role in the world around them.
5. To participate in athletic and recreational activities and trips.

This year we hope to organize and participate in events that are Spiritual (Day and Weekend Retreats, Masses geared for teenagers), Educational (Discussion Groups, Lectures), Service Orientated (Merton House, the Missionaries of Charity [Bronx] and Habitat for Humanity) and Recreational (Lazer Tag, Bowling, Movies).
Overall, the St. Theresa Youth Group hopes to create an environment where it is not only acceptable to belong to a group that is based on love and truth from Catholic teachings, but one that encourages teenagers to share this experience at home, at school and at work. For more information and for upcoming events, please call Fr. Joe Linck at 261-3676.
