Golf Commission

What We Do

The Golf Course Commission is composed of nine members appointed by the First Selectman. It has the responsibility for the control, custody, and management of the Tashua Knolls and Tashua Glen golf courses, clubhouse, and all other structures thereon.

The Commission formulates policies relating to the operation of the golf courses, fees and charges and other decisions necessary for the successful operation of the course. This is an enterprise fund and is self-sustaining. It has no bearing on the tax rate.

Town Charter Description

Section 12. Golf Course Commission.

A. Composition and appointment. The Town shall have a Golf Course Commission composed of nine members, appointed by the First Selectman and approved by the Town Council, for three-year terms with three terms expiring each year.

B. Powers and duties. Subject to ordinance by the Town Council, the Golf Course Commission shall have the exclusive control and custody and exercise management of the public golf courses located within the Town, together with all structures and buildings located thereon. The Commission shall be charged with the responsibility of formulating policies relating to the operation of the golf courses, shall fix rules and regulations of play, hours of operation, fees and charges, and all other decisions necessary for the successful operation of said golf courses.
