First Selectman Vicki Tesoro is pleased to announce that the 2023 Memorial Day activities and parade will take place on Monday, May 29th.
In recognition of the lives lost in Vietnam, a brief ceremony and wreath-laying will occur at 8:00 AM at the Vietnam Memorial on White Plains Road. All are welcome to attend.
The Town Hall ceremony will honor parade Grand Marshal Captain/Infantry Officer Michael Cafaro, MD, who served with the United States Marine Corp from 1981 to 1993 and commanded more than eighty marines and sailors while stationed in Beirut, Lebanon as a Rifle Platoon Commander.
The ceremony will begin at 9:00 AM in front of Town Hall. A wreath-laying ceremony, honoring those lives lost in other wars will also be held at Town Hall. Please join us for this ceremony.
The Town of Trumbull thanks Summer Evans Studio, a Trumbull business, for their generous contribution to the purchase of the wreaths.
The parade itself will step off at 10:00 AM, beginning at the new shopping plaza, Long Hill Market, and ending at Town Hall.
The town will fly flags on Main Street from Memorial Day until September 11th. FLAG SPONSORSHIPS ARE CLOSED FOR 2023: If you wish to sponsor a flag, please visit the Flag Sponsor page. You may purchase a flag in honor of, or in memory of, a soldier who is deceased, has served, or is currently serving. Anyone can sponsor a flag in honor of all soldiers. The names of those being remembered or honored will appear in the program.
