Leaf Raking and Snow Shoveling Program

The Town of Trumbull recognizes that some of our residents are physically unable to rake their own yards or shovel their driveways and walkways. The Town is pleased to provide assistance to our Senior citizens (65+) and people with disabilities (18+) who could benefit from help offered by our local students who are seeking community service hours.

Seniors in Need of Assistance with Leaf Pickup or Snow Shoveling

Senior Citizens aged 65+ or disabled Trumbull resident in need of assistance with leaf raking and/or show shoveling should review the Senior Citizen Application for Community Service Leaf and Shovel Program (PDF) information and return the form to the Senior Center in order to participate.

Services are limited to outdoor work only. This program is completely dependent upon the number of volunteers that sign up and their availability when needed. Assistance is not guaranteed.

Volunteers

Students who are interested in the Students Assisting Seniors program should review the Student Application for Community Service Leaf and Shovel Program (PDF) information and return the form to the Senior Center in order to participate. All residents are welcome to volunteer and assist in this program.

When a resident is in need of raking or shoveling, they will contact the Trumbull Senior Center and the Center will contact the volunteer. The volunteer may choose which jobs to accept and can work individually, in pairs, or in a group. Services are limited to outdoor work only. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation. Once the job is complete, the homeowner will sign the Community Service Form.
