Summer Reading

Summer Reading Challenge 2021 Banner

Tired of our current reality? Trumbull Library is a repository for timeless treasures and rare classics you cannot/will not find in other libraries across Fairfield County. This summer we challenge you to find rare gems that span the decades on our shelves and rediscover how we viewed the world in 1952, or told stories in 1996, and wonder at how we keep advancing as humans!

When you return the item, complete a raffle ticket found in the lobby or online here for any title you read/checkout with an original copyright or publication date from 1810-2001. You could win dinner and a private tour of Beardsley Zoo for two!

Although you might find a first edition or book bound from this time period on the shelves, many classics from these decades are still cherished and have been in continuous print or reprinted to mark special occasions.
