Dear Local Businesses and Employers,
As we have all experienced, the COVID-19 situation has accelerated over the past week. The Town of Trumbull continues to take the issue seriously and along with the State of Connecticut has implemented preventive measures intended to slow transmission of the virus and to keep residents safe.
Today, Governor Ned Lamont implemented additional measures further limiting social gatherings. He ordered the temporary closing of gyms, movie theaters, fitness centers/studios, and bars and restaurants with the exception of take-out and delivery service. We recognize the tremendous impact all of these measures have on the business community. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts to keep residents safe, and to adapt and sustain your business and employees during this difficult time. Details on all State of Connecticut orders and business guidance can be found at: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus
We are committed to working with our business community to overcome this unprecedented situation. Please visit the link below for information on the Small Business Association (SBA) Disaster Assistance Loan Program and Unemployment Insurance guidelines: https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1089
We will continue to share recovery resources as they become available. One of the most important things a business can do at this time is to be sure to document fully any losses from the COVID-19 situation. If new resources become available, this information will be critical.
In terms of adapting your business, we are preparing a list of restaurants offering take-out and delivery services and will help publicize these businesses. If other businesses are adapting their goods and services during this time and would like our help making residents aware, please send information to Rina Bakalar, Director of Economic and Community Development at rbakakar@trumbull-ct.gov. We are here to help you resource on all business matters. Lucienne Bango, Trumbull Health Director is a wealth of information and can be reached at lbango@trumbull-ct.gov .
Thank you for the measures you have taken on behalf of your employees and customers. We appreciate your patience and fortitude during these challenging times. We will continue to update you in the coming days.
Sincerely,
Vicki A. Tesoro Rina Bakalar
