Due to the worsening impact of COVID-19 in the area, First Selectman Vicki Tesoro is providing the following Town Hall update.
First Selectman Tesoro has signed a Declaration of State of Emergency in order to be consistent with actions taken by both the State and Federal government. In accordance with this Declaration of State of Emergency, the Town is taking the following actions.
In addition to the closures of Town buildings and facilities announced on March 12, which can be found at https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1084, all public parks and facilities will also be closed beginning at dusk this evening until further notice. This measure is necessary to ensure that residents stay safe and are vigilant about practicing social distancing. It is imperative that all of us respect these restrictions and closures. This is an extremely serious situation.
Trumbull Town Hall will be closed to the public until further notice. In order to maintain essential services to the public while protecting Town employees and the public, staff will be available during regular business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Anyone with Town business should call or email the appropriate department before proceeding. A directory of staff and departments can be found here: https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/Directory.aspx . If necessary, please leave a voice message and someone will return your call as soon as practicable. Please allow a sufficient amount of time for a response.
Most Town meetings are cancelled for at least the next two weeks. Please check the Town website for details.
Residents wishing to pay their taxes may pay online at https://www.mytaxbill.org/inet/bill/home.do?town=trumbull or by mail. Any payments sent through the mail will be processed as soon as possible and a receipt will be mailed back. NO CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED by mail.
Town permitting and inspecting departments have provided information for those seeking commercial or residential permits and inspections. That information can be found here: https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1085
Trumbull Health Director Luci Bango is reminding all Trumbull residents to practice social distancing. This means no social gatherings, play dates, or congregating with groups of any size. Even small groups are too much of a risk. Stay home, wash your hands, and cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or a tissue. If we are to slow the spread of the disease, it is imperative that we follow these measures. While they may seem severe, they are the best way to “flatten the curve.”

First Selectman Tesoro asks the community to help do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19. “The safety of our residents is always my top priority. I am asking residents to continue practicing social distancing, and do your best to stay at home. I am encouraging all residents to visit the Town’s and Board of Education’s websites for the latest updates.”
Please stay home when possible, stay informed, and be safe.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
