 PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, in 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which that date falls as Police Week, and;

WHEREAS, National Police Week is a time for us to honor and recognize the continuous dedication and courage of our police officers who put their lives on the line every day so that we remain safe; and

WHEREAS, we cannot come together this year to honor, celebrate and grieve fallen officers, we nevertheless remember those who put their life on the line every day for us; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Trumbull is deeply grateful to the courageous officers of Trumbull, under the leadership of Chief Michael Lombardo, who selflessly confront danger to protect our Town, our families and defend our community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut, do hereby proclaim the week in which May 15, 2020, falls as NATIONAL POLICE WEEK .

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Trumbull to be affixed on the 13th day of May in the year 2020.
