The Town of Trumbull Pavement Preservation Program will be starting this spring as weather permits and will run into the fall. Improvements to road conditions are a planned, multifaceted approach. This program is a new approach to extending the life of town roads between paving projects by crack sealing and other surface treatment of roads. It will balance preservation of town road integrity with an aggressive reconstruction and paving plan. Residents will see incremental improvements throughout Town.
Areas have been identified throughout the town with efforts concentrating primarily on crack sealing. In addition, required repairs will be started on additional roads in preparation for other types of surface treatments. All work will be primarily done during the normal hours of the Highway Department and will be limited to small work zones. Traffic disruptions will be limited for all work with alternating one lane traffic being managed by flagmen when necessary.
Along with road preservation techniques, the following roads are planned for repaving this year. The work in 2023 comes at a cost of nearly $5.5 million.
