During the early morning hours of Sunday, April 30, 2023 Trumbull officers responded to The Royce, at 100 Avalon Gates, when a caller reported that he shot a family member in one of the apartments. Responding officers located the family member that happened to be in the parking lot, who was obviously not injured, and was unaware of the emergency call. Officers realized the call was a hoax, originating between teenagers who were using an online gaming app. Police are continuing their investigation to identify and charge the person responsible for causing the significant police response to The Royce apartments.
