WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the United States since 1949; and
WHEREAS, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition; and
WHEREAS, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is launching the “More Than Enough” campaign to uplift and empower all people to feel that they are “more than enough” and are inherently worthy of life, love, and healing; and
WHEREAS, NAMI’s message is one of hope and inclusion—no matter what one may look like, no matter where one is in their journey, no matter what one is or isn’t able to do; and
WHEREAS, each business, school, government agency, healthcare provider, organization and citizen shares the burden of mental health problems and has a responsibility to promote mental wellness and support prevention; and
WHEREAS, assistance and support is available through:

NOW THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim the month of May 2023 as Mental Health Awareness Month
