The Trumbull Police Department is issuing a traffic alert in order to advise motorists of road closures on Monday, May 29, 2023 due to the Memorial Day parade. There will be no access to Main Street from Park Lane to Gisella Road between the hours of 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM. There will be several detours in place to provide access to the Stop & Shop complex on Quality Street and surrounding side streets located off of Main Street.

Trumbull Police Officers will be in the affected area in order to facilitate the safe and efficient flow of both motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Motorists not needing to access these areas should consider alternate routes to their destination to avoid unnecessary delays.

Beginning at 8:30 AM:

Upper Main Street will be closed between Broadway Road and Stonehouse Road. Traffic will be detoured on Broadway Road to Whitney Avenue and on Stonehouse Road to Madison Avenue.

Parade participants ONLY will be allowed to be dropped off just beyond the detours at these two locations: Main Street at Gisella Road and Wauneta Road at Main Street.

Beginning at 9:00 AM:

Intermittent road closures in the area of Trumbull Town Hall on Main Street between Churchill Road and Quality Street will take place during the Town’s Memorial Day ceremonies.

Beginning at 9:30 AM:

Main Street between the Northern end of Broadway Road (Route 25 and Route 111 intersection) and Quality Street will be closed to ALL traffic until the end of the parade.

Those planning on attending the parade should arrive at their destinations early to avoid the closures. The parade is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM.

Trumbull Police will be present at various detoured locations to assist motorists and pedestrians.

If you are not attending the parade, motorists should seek alternate routes between the hours of 8:30 AM until noon on Monday.
