Town / State Budget Update | 11/02/17 Trumbull Citizen Alert
"This is First Selectman Tim Herbst calling with an important budget update.
Many of you have reached out asking questions about the state budget crisis and how it would impact Trumbull. Many of you have asked if the proposed cuts would adversely harm our schools and result in a supplemental tax increase.
The State of Connecticut finally adopted a budget. I am pleased to report that there will be no harmful cuts to our public schools here in Trumbull. Our budget is balanced and taxes will remain stable.
I want to thank our legislative delegation for their help and support through this difficult process. I also want to thank the people of Trumbull for being engaged throughout this process.
Thankfully, we were able to avoid a crisis. Town services, most especially our schools, will remain intact and taxes will not increase.
