[ARCHIVED] Trumbull First Selectman to host Golf Classic

Trumbull First Selectman to host Golf Classic

Trumbull First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst has announced that he is hosting the Inaugural First Selectman’s Golf Classic on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Tashua Knolls Golf Course, in Trumbull, Connecticut. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the following Trumbull programs: Trumbull Academic Challenge for Excellence Foundation (ACE), Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band (THSGEMB), the Trumbull High School Boosters Club and Friends of the Trumbull High School Choirs (FOTHHSC).  In selecting the charitable causes that the Golf Classic would be dedicated to, the First Selectman indicated that it is important for the Town of Trumbull to support learning and team building opportunities outside of the classroom.

“I believe that each of these programs play a very important part in developing success in the classroom and success in life,” stated the First Selectman.  “Responsibility, a strong work ethic, teamwork and perseverance are traits that each of these programs impart in the students that participate in them and these qualities will serve them for many years to come.”  First Selectman Herbst indicated that the response of local business and community leaders has already been incredible.  “We are fortunate to have a community made up of tremendous people that come together and support our future - - the children of Trumbull.”

The tournament will begin with registration and a luncheon at 11:30, followed by a shotgun start at 12:30. There will be four Par-three challenges with prizes.  Refreshments will be available on the golf course.  The registration fee is $250 per golfer, $1,000 per foursome, limited to 30 foursomes. The day concludes with a dinner and cocktail reception with assorted serving stations. Registration with payment must be received by August 17th. Click for the Registration Form.
