Trumbull W.P.C.A. – Registered Sewer Installer Info
It has come to the attention of the office of the W.P.C.A. that a company called Pacifico Wastewater Management is soliciting house connections from homeowners in the new sewer construction, Phase IV, Part B, Contract III area. Please be advised that this company is currently not included on the Town of Trumbull’s “List of Registered Sewer Installers.” Unregistered installers are not permitted to apply for a House Connection Permit. A Permit is required before an installation can be inspected and approved for release by the Town.
Residents can expect two notifications from the office of the W.P.C.A. before it is necessary to consider contacting an installer. The first notification concerns the house connection or lateral location on your property. It is premature to consider an installer before a lateral house connection is in place on the property. Once the lateral house connection has been installed on your property the main line must be pressure tested, video inspected and released for service before a house connection is possible.
Once your sewer system has been released for service in your area, you will be notified by my office that the sanitary sewer system is in operation and available for house connections. Included with this notification will be a list of Registered Sewer Installers. The office of the Trumbull W.P.C.A. recommends that homeowners obtain at least three estimates, only from installers on the Registered Sewer Installers list.
If you would like to hire an installer not listed, they will be required to register. In order to become a registered installer, Town regulations require a contractor to possess a P-1, P-7 or W-9 license. They are also required to file a Performance Bond in the amount of $5,000 as well as a Certificate of Insurance in the sum of $1,000,000 to cover public liability.
