Adult Programming

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, April 19th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. We can’t wait to see you there. Registration is requested but not required. Basic knitting and crocheting help are available upon request. 

The Romantics Book Club Wednesday, April 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We will meet virtually every third Wednesday to discuss the book. Copies of this month’s pick, Get a Life by Chloe Brown, will be available at the circulation desk. Register here.  

DIY: Felt Tulip Craft Thursday, April 20th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Spring is here! join us for a relaxing afternoon of felt tulip making. Participants will use felt, needles, and thread to create unique felt tulips to enjoy year-round. All supplies included. Registration is required for this event. 

Fiction Writing International Thursday, April 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Are you interested in writing fiction but need motivation to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard)? Join author, journalist and fiction writing teacher, Kim Kovach, to write fiction stories each week. Participants will be inspired by Opening Lines from international authors and paintings by artists from around the world. Explore creating characters, point-of-view, dialogue and more in this 8-week spring session. No passport needed! Registration is required.

Open Mic Night: Poetry Edition Thursday, April 20th from 7p.m. to 8 p.m. DROP-IN EVENT!!! April is Poetry Month, how wonderful! Let's celebrate by coming together to read an original or favorite poem with other poetry lovers. A sign-up sheet for readings will be available the night of the event so there is no need to register in advance. Bring a friend, your family, or just yourself. We look forward to seeing you!

Children and Teen Programming

Children's Pipe Cleaner Flowers Craft Saturday, April 15th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Children will use pipe cleaners to learn how to make different types of flowers to create a bouquet that can be displayed year round! All materials provided. Recommended for grades 3-6. 

Spring Craft Night Monday, April 17th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Celebrate the warmer weather with a Spring-themed craft night! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

Panel Picks: YA Book Club Wednesday, April 19th from 5 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. This year, the young adult book club is back and more different than ever! This time, as Panel Picks, each month we will read and discuss the first collected volume of a graphic novel or manga series. If applicable, we will watch the first episode or two of the related series, movie trailers, compare other adaptations, etc. as well as discuss the comic itself! This month we are reading Batman: the Jiro Kuwata Batmanga by Jiro Kuwata. For ages 12 + *Registration is requested but not required.

Little Scientists Friday, April 21st from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Join us for hands-on, messy activities focused on different scientific topics. Ages 3-5. Registration is required.Please register for only one session.

Children’s Earth Day Craft Saturday, April 22nd from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join us for an Earth Day craft using recycled materials. Best suited for grades K-2, but younger/older siblings are welcome. Please register for each child attending.

Family Book Cover Bingo Monday, April 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for a fun game of Book Cover Bingo at the library. You'll be looking for book covers instead of numbers and letters. You'll also hear about the library's newest children's books. Small prizes awarded to winners. This is an all-age family program. Registration is required.

Storytime 2's and 3's Tuesday, April 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required.Ages 2-3.

Buildwave Workshop Saturday, April 22nd from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A high energy creative building event that encourages imaginative play and collaboration. Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of the workshop students create with over a dozen different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. Registration required, ages 6 and up.
