Kids and Teen programming

Toddler Time for 2's and 3's Monday, July 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3.

Baby Time Tuesday, July 18th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Join Miss Elise in the Community Room for storytime! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. We have a limited number of seat cushions for sitting on the floor, so families are invited to bring blankets or towels as well. Registration is not required. Questions? You Choose: Oregon Trail Tuesday, July 18th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Are you ready to make the treacherous journey along the Oregon Trail? Learn about the families that made the trip and the perils they faced as you steer your own imaginary wagon and make difficult decisions about supplies, obstacles, and more! Ages 8-12. Registration is required.

Wild West PJ Storytime Tuesday, July 18th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Join us for a rootin', tootin' night of fun! We will read a wild story followed by three crafts. Wearing PJs is encouraged and welcome. Please register for each child attending.

Icons Sticker History Book Wednesday, July 19th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. An ICON is someone who is the object of great attention and devotion; an idol; an important and enduring symbol. Build your own Icons History Sticker Book and learn about several important icons throughout history! Each participant will receive a free copy of the Icons Sticker Book by Sticker Book Publishing and be led through completing the book. Match each sticker of an influential and inspiring icon to their biography. Ages 7-12. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Panel Picks: YA Book Club Wednesday, July 19th from 5 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. We read and discuss the first collected volume of a graphic novel or manga series. If applicable, we will watch the first episode or two of the related series, movie trailers, compare other adaptations, etc. as well as discuss the comic itself! This month we are reading Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way. Participants will need to register their library card and create an account on hoopla, if they have not already. Preschool Time Thursday, July 20th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie for storytime! Listen to stories, sing songs, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required. Questions? Email Miss Katie at ksabo@trumbull-ct.gov.

Chess Club Thursday, July 20th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Chess Club is weekly this July! All ages and skill levels are invited to play. Death on the Oregon Trail Friday, July 21st from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Learn about the harsh realities of 19th century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail, and create your own custom headstone. Participants will pick a name, occupation, and a way to die on the Oregon Trail to create a distinctive craft. This event is best suited for teens ages 12 through 17. All supplies are included. Registration is requested but not required for this event.

Fairchild: Time Travel Event Saturday, July 15th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and open the time portal and get ready to travel in time. Registration required, ages 6 and up.

Fairchild: Drop-in Crafts Monday, July 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fun crafts to complete in the Library. All ages with parents. Drop in.

Fairchild: Random Adult Book Club Monday, July 17th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come join us for a book club that is exactly that.  "Hot Book" fiction, thrillers, mysteries, memoirs, sci-fi, non-fiction, chick lit... You never know what genre we will explore or rabbit hole we'll go down! The book selection for this month is: The Last Flight by Julie Clark.

Fairchild: Third Age Book Club Tuesday, July 18th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Third Age Book Club is for seniors who love to read and want to discuss great books with other members of the community. If you are interested in joining in, please email: pcarlson@trumbull-ct.gov
