DIY: Wire and Bead Garden Adornment Monday, August 14th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Spend a lovely evening with us creating an enchanting garden adornment. Participants will uses wire and beads to construct their own globe shaped outdoor decoration. All supplies are included. Registration is required for this event.

Yoga at the Library Tuesday, August 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join Joanne Orenstein, Health & Wellness Director at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, for an hour of Vinyasa Yoga. Register here.

Trivia Night: Music Wednesday, August 23rd from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Ready to test your knowledge and challenge your friends? Join Trivia Night! Compete for prizes, have some fun, and show off your smarts! Bring your friends and your brain power for an unforgettable night of trivia. Register here. 

Open Mic Night: Poetry Thursday, August 24th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Join us for our second open mic night of the year in celebration of poetry of all kinds! Read an original, a favorite, or even song lyrics. Is spoken word your thing, we'd love to see you too! A sign-up sheet will be available in the community room for anyone wishing to participate. Can't wait to see you!

Kids and Teen Programming

Cut, Craft & Create Family Event Saturday, August 12th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Drop-in at the library to celebrate the end of our summer reading program! Enjoy 90s themed crafts that are da bomb at this family event. Registration is requested but not required. All crafts are first come first serve.

High School Academics & College Admissions Monday, August 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. In this comprehensive presentation, Princeton Review representative Emmie Hudson will discuss the major components of college applications: how and why high school grades are the most important element, what a good transcript looks like, and best practices you can begin implementing now. This program is geared towards high school students and their caregivers. This presentation will be through the Princeton Review's zoom account. To register, please go here. 

Panel Picks: YA Book Club Wednesday, August 16th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. This month we are reading Elle(s) by Kis Toussaint. Participants will need to register their library card and create an account on hoopla, if they have not already. The book can be accessed online here: https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/14308657 (copy & paste into browser for link to work). For ages 12 +. *Registration is requested but not required.

Chess Club Thursday, August 17th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. All ages and skill levels are invited to play. Please bring a chess board if you own one. Registration is requested but not required.

Storytime 2's and 3's Tuesday, August 15th from 10:30 p.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3

Creators’ Corner Exploration Thursday, August 10th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us at the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Library and learn to use our 3D printer. If you are interested in attending or using the 3D printer please email Paula Carlson: pcarlson@trumbull-ct.gov

D & D Club Thursday, August 17th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures! Never played before? No problem! No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
