Yoga at the Library Tuesday, September 5th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join Joanne Orenstein, Health & Wellness Director at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, for an hour of Vinyasa Yoga. Register here. 

Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, September 6th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! The group discusses all kinds of non-fiction books, including books about science, history, memoirs. Copies of each month's book are available in multiple formats at the Circulation Desk and often as digital audiobooks and eBooks. September book selection: ROBIN by Dave Itzkoff. Join us! 

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, September 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. Registration is requested for the group but not required. Basic knitting and crocheting help are available upon request. Please email Holly Harwood at hharwood@trumbull-ct.gov before the session with basic help requests.

Arm Knitting with The Stitching Coach Saturday, September 9th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Beginners and experts alike will enjoy the fast and fun knitting phenomenon called arm knitting. At the end of the in-person 90-minute program, patrons (ages 8+) will be able to cast on, knit and bind off an infinity scarf. Class limit is 15 people and will be taught by Certified Knitting Instructor Dawn Zillich. Supplies included. Register here. 

Movie Matinee Tuesday, September 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The movie matinee at Fairchild-Nichols is Absence of Malice, starring Paul Newman and Sally Field. Join us. 

Drop-in Tech Help Friday, September 15th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oh fudge, the computer has done it again! Feeling frustrated or simply in need of a quick tutorial? Drop-in tech help is available to assist you with less complex computer issues that require 15 -20 minutes of help. Whether you’d like to ask a quick question about how to do something on your smartphone or whether you’d like some help learning a specific computer skill, we’re here to help. Click here for more info.

Baby Time Tuesday, September 5th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Join Miss Elise for storytime! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required. Drop-In Family Craft: Plaster Pumpkins Saturday, September 9th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Stop by the library to create a plaster pumpkin for your family's home. Participants will use plaster, a balloon, and rubberbands to assemble their pumpkins. Supplies are first come first serve. Registration is requested but not required for this event.

Story Time 2s and 3s Tuesday, September 5th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.

Creators’ Corner Exploration Saturday, September 9th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us at the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Library and learn to use our 3D printer. If you are interested in attending or using the 3D printer please email Paula Carlson: pcarlson@trumbull-ct.gov

Toddler Yoga with Jyothi Thursday, September 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Children will learn postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation in a fun, age-appropriate setting with a supportive musical playlist. Mats are not required. Registration required for each class. Ages 2 to 5.
