Rails to Back Trails: A Local History Bike Tour Sunday, October 15th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local Trumbull Historian Sue DelBianco will take cyclists back in time to when train was king in the Trumbull Valley. Sue will be stopping off at many historical points-of-interest along the rail-trail: a cow tunnel, site of a train wreck, remains of an amusement park, a mill, a mining company, two train stations, and a reputed witch's gravesite. Please meet at Tait Rd. Commuter Parking Lot. If you are local, we encourage you to bike to the meeting location as parking can become an issue. Well-Being Wednesday: Lifestyle Medicine with Dr. Raquel Harrison Wednesday, October 18th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Struggling to maintain the diet, exercise, and sleep you need? In this monthly workshop, lifestyle medicine specialist, Dr. Raquel Harrison, will help you create and maintain healthy habits that will improve your physical and mental health. Register here. 

This Business of Fighting: A Human Face on World War II Sunday October 22nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. “This Business of Fighting,” is a live performance story, based on Tony Pritchard’s letters to his parents in Rhode Island between his sailing for Europe in February 1944 and Germany’s surrender about fifteen months later. Join us!

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, October 18th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. We can’t wait to see you there. Registration is requested for the group but not required.

Toddler Time for 2s and 3s Monday, October 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. 

Pajama Story Time Monday, October 16th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Put on your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join Miss Elise for story time and a simple craft! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

Baby Time Tuesday, October 17th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Join Miss Elise for story time! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required. Stuck in the Middle (Grade) Book Club Wednesday, October 18th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This month we are reading The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney. The first ten to register can check out a copy from the children's department. Additional participants may join but will be responsible for securing their own copy of the book. This program is for teens in grades 6th - 8th. Register here.

Percy Jackson Book Club Thursday, October 19th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Let’s celebrate the new Percy Jackson book (Percy Jackson and the Chalice of the Gods) and the upcoming TV series with a Percy Jackson Book Club! We will be reading the entire series over the next few months. We will discuss The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan at this meeting. Several library copies of the book will be available for check out at the Children's Desk. Ages 8-12. Registration is required.

DIY: Spooky Mason Jar Friday, October 20th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Spooky season is upon us and what better way to celebrate than with a frightfully good craft? Participants will use a mason jar, decal, and paint to create a custom spooky jar. All supplies are included for this event. Registration is required.

Story Time 2s and 3s Tuesday, October 17th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.

Internet Security Wednesday October 18th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn about VPN and Multifactor Authentication, and why enhances your levels of protection and reduces the chances of being hacked. Registration required, adults and teens are welcome.

Basics of Java Tuesday, October 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn the basics of Java in this online series. Laptop or Chromebook is required for this course. Conducted by Jack Nolan- a Trumbull High Senior and member of First Tech Challenge Robotics Team Meta^Infinity 18221. Registration is required, once registered you will be signed up for the entire session of 8 classes. Grades 6 and up.
