Nonfiction Book Discussion Wednesday, January 3rd from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Each month we discuss a new and challenging non-fiction book. This month’s read is THE WORST HARD TIME by Timothy Egan. If you enjoy learning about new things and different experiences, this group is for you. We are always welcoming new members. Join us!

Open Mic Night: Poetry Thursday, January 4th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Join us for open mic night of the year in celebration of poetry of all kinds! Read an original, a favorite, or even song lyrics. Is spoken word your thing, we'd love to see you too. Registration is not required but open for those who wish to confirm. Can't wait to see you!

Lifestyle Medicine with Dr. Raquel Harrison Wednesday, Jan 10th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Sleep is the key to full body restoration. Break down basic sleep principles and learning strategies to not only optimize quantity by quality. Register here. 

Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, January 11th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we read and discuss A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. We have a limited amount of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch circulation desk. SCORE: How to Start a Successful Business – Now! Thursday, January 11th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Are you looking to build a successful business of your own, either full-time or part-time? In this fast-paced, entertaining presentation, you will learn “step by step” how to start a business in Connecticut. Click here to register via SCORE.

Children's and Teen Programming

Mini Artists Friday, January 5th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A creative and messy art class where we focus on the process rather than the finished product. Ages 3-5. Registration is required.

Children’s Snowman Puppets Saturday, January 6th 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Create your very own snowman puppet to play with that won't melt when you're inside warming up this winter! We will use popsicle sticks and paper to make these puppets. All materials provided. This craft is best suited for ages 5-8, but younger and older siblings are welcome. Please for each child participating register in the craft (not the adult accompanying them). Register here.

Toddler Time for 2's and 3's Monday, January 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. 

Book Dragons Book Club Monday, January 8th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This month we are reading Time Jumpers #1: Stealing the Sword by Wendy Mass. Read the book on your own and then join us at the library for a fun discussion, related activity, and snacks. Register here. 

Baby Time Tuesday, January 9th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Join Miss Elise for storytime! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required. Chapter Chatter Book Club Tuesday, January 9th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join Miss Katie for the 3-5 grade book club, Chapter Chatter! We will meet monthly on Tuesdays at 6PM to discuss that month's pick. The first ten children registered may pick up a library copy of the book! Register here.

Storytime 2's and 3's Tuesday, January 9th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3. 

A Perky Pairing: Coffee & Chocolate Wednesday, January 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This presentation covers everything there is to know about java! The interesting history, benefits, how and where coffee and chocolate hail from, the famous pioneers in both industries, interactive trivia quiz, best brewing and roasting methods, fun coffee terminology. Please note decaf coffee will be served. Registration required, adults only.
