Twelve Days: How the Union Nearly Lost Washington in the First Days of the Civil War Sunday, January 28th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for a presentation with Trumbull author Tony Silber as he discusses his new book Twelve Days: How the Union Nearly Lost Washington in the First Days of the Civil War. Books will be available for sale and signing after the event. Registration is suggested but not required. Please register for this event to receive a reminder notification and up-to-date program information. 

Sustainable Trumbull Presents: Everything Energy Efficiency Monday, January 29th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Are you paying too much for your home energy? Have you thought about solar but unsure where to start? Do you want to learn more about owning an electric vehicle and the associated home energy costs and charging logistics? Join presenters from the Connecticut Greenbank and Avangrid to learn about financial incentives and programs for home energy savings. Presentations will be followed by Q&A with organization representatives. Registration is encouraged but not required. Drop-ins welcome!

Overwhelmed to Organized: Kick Your Clutter with the Clutter Kicker Wednesday, January 31st from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Participants will learn what clutter is, common sources of clutter, how decluttering improves one's mood and mental health, and some guidelines and tips for taking back control of your space. Participants will leave with the tools and the inspiration to get decluttered and organized. Register here. 

What is Freedom? By Fort Monroe Authority Monday, February 5th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. What is freedom? Is there a single definition that fits everyone throughout history? Discover the narratives of individuals in the history of Fort Monroe and Old Point Comfort, in Virginia, from the first landing of Africans in 1619, the Contraband Decision of 1861, formation of the United States Colored Troops, and their unique experiences with the word freedom. This program uses primary and secondary sources to explore narratives of freedom through the lenses of individuals that have set foot at Fort Monroe. Register here. 

Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, February 7th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction. The group discusses all kinds of non-fiction books, including books about science, history, memoirs. Copies of each month's book are available in multiple formats at the Circulation Desk and often as digital audiobooks and eBooks. February’s book selection: THE GREAT BRIDGE by David McCullough. Join us!

Toddler Time For 2s & 3s Monday, January 29th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3.

Take York Child to the Library Day Craft Lab Saturday, February 3rd from 11 a.m. to 11:45 or 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Did you know that Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCttLD), now an international initiative, originated in CT in 2011? It’s a day where families are encouraged to visit their local library. Today's Craft Lab offers a variety of crafts for a wide range of ages, including book lights, beaded bookmarks, comic book collages, shrinky dinks, and more! Registration is required. Please register for only one session and include the total number of people (kids and adults) participating.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kickoff Saturday, February 3rd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join the Children's Department for the launch of our new year-round challenge, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten!  There will be a story, craft, and information on how to get started on your child's journey to reading 1000 books before they start kindergarten. Join us.

Storytime 2s & 3s Tuesday, January 30th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.

D & D Club Wednesday, January 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures! Never played before? No problem! No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
