Women and Money Roundtable Wednesday, February 14th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Join Financial Advisors Julia Strayer and Liz Maccarone as they host The Women and Money Roundtable. This series is a virtual, monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. The program provides information, resources and learning activities to educate and create a safe and welcoming place for women to learn, share their experiences, and ask questions. This program is in partnership with libraries throughout the tri-state area. Register here.

Sustainable Trumbull Presents: Trumbull Recycling Best Practices Thursday, February 15th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Do you wishcycle, as in recycle everything and anything in hopes it will stay out of the trash? Trumbull has many unique opportunities to recycle items typically headed for the garbage. Join Mari Jackson, a Trumbull resident and member of the Sustainable Trumbull team, along with the Trumbull Department of Public Works, to review best practices for single-stream recycling and learn about the unique recycling opportunities our town offers. Community Puzzle Swap Saturday, February 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle! Join us to swap out your old jigsaw puzzles for new-to-you puzzles. Puzzles must be 500 pieces or more, in good condition, with all pieces present and in a sealed plastic bag. You can swap out up to five puzzles on the day of the event. 

Double Victory: African Americans in WWII Tuesday, February 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The National WWII Museum explores the African American struggle against totalitarianism abroad and racism at home. Participants will meet Pearl Harbor hero Dorie Miller, the Montford Point Marines, the Tuskegee Airmen, and the seven African American Medal of Honor recipients. Learn about the struggle for racial equality in war factories and in the barracks and trace the historic path from segregation to integration in the military. An analysis of WWII-era African American poetry will get you thinking about issues of race, equality, and how we remember and teach history. Register here. 

A St. Patrick's Celebration with Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy Sunday, March 3rd from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Ever want to know why Irish dancers keep their arms in? How come Riverdance became the cultural phenomenon it is today? Come find out with the Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy right here at the library! You will see some spectacular Irish dancing and learn about its history and cultural significance throughout the centuries. Join us!

FIRST Tech Challenge: Robot Scrimmage Saturday, February 10th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. FIRST Tech is a challenge where teams of 7th - 12th graders are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Hosted by Trumbull High School Students from FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team Robolution 18366, this scrimmage will showcase some of the 2023 - 2024 season teams practice for their upcoming championships. During this event, members of the public are invited to come and watch bots battle for victory! This event is open to all members of the public. Registration is requested for email reminders, but not required. 

Toddler Time For 2s & 3s Monday, February 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3.

Sticker History: African Americans Monday, February 12th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Build your own African Americans Sticker Book and learn more about the many successful and inspirational African Americans in politics, the arts, science, sports, and business, and the many courageous fighters for civil and equal rights. Each participant will receive a free copy of the African Americans Sticker Book by Sticker Book Publishing and be led through completing the book. Match each sticker of an influential and inspiring historical figure to their biography. Ages 7-12. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Teen Canvas Tote Bag Painting Tuesday, February 13th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Paint your own tote bag using acrylic paints! Valentine's Day designs will be provided, but teens are welcome to paint any appropriate designs on their bag! This program is for teens ages 12-17. Register here.

D & D Club Wednesday, February 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures! Never played before? No problem! No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required.

Historic Preservation 101 Wednesday, February 21st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. National register, state register, local historic district, historic resource inventories, local ordinances, tax credits, design review–what are the basics of historic preservation? Interested in learning more, join us for a special presentation by Preservation Connecticut. Registration required.
