Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, April 3rd from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! We read a wide variety of popular fiction and across the genres of nonfiction. April book selection: AN IMMENSE WORLD by Ed Yong. Join us.

The Crash Course Club: Nature's Notebook for Citizen Science Thursday, April 4th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Become part of a global citizen science movement by learning how to track trees and flowers over time. Nature's Notebook is a program for observing and recording plant and animal life cycle events, like flowering and bird migration. Use this app to mark your sites, create a list of plants and animals, and going into the field to record observations throughout the seasons. Register here. 

Well-Being Wednesday: Lifestyle Medicine with Dr. Raquel Harrison Wednesday April 10th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Struggling to maintain the diet, exercise, and sleep you need? Lifestyle medicine specialist, Dr. Raquel Harrison, will help you create and maintain healthy habits that will improve your physical and mental health. In this workshop, Dr. Harrison, will deconstruct the science behind risky behaviors, their effects to our bodies and why it can become difficult to control. Attendees will walk away with healthy strategies to reduce stress without risks or side effects. Register here. 

Women and Money Roundtable Wednesday, April 10th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. This series is a virtual, monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. The program provides information, resources and learning activities to educate and create a safe and welcoming place for women to learn, share their experiences, and ask questions. Modern Calligraphy Saturday, April 13th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Everything you need to know to get started with Modern Calligraphy. Debby Reelitz talk about the importance of hand lettering in a digital world and why it is still relevant. You learn three different ways modern calligraphy can be written and of course, how to write this modern calligraphy stile with a lettering tool. Join us!

Author Talk: Late Boomer by Fred Del Bianco Jr. Sunday, April 14th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Late Boomer is a personal account of the early years of television; the wonderful and diverse music of the 1960s and 1970s; the revolutionary motion pictures; first moon landing; Vietnam War; technological changes, etc., as Del Bianco intertwines his own life to offer a unique perspective of the general Americana and pop culture of the late 1900s. Toddler Time for 2s and 3s Monday, April 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3.

Mini Artists Friday, April 5th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A creative and messy art class where we focus on the process rather than the finished product. Ages 3-5. Registration is required.

Eclipse Craft Monday, April 8th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Join Miss Katie to make your very own diorama using paper and brads to demonstrate the path of the solar eclipse! Registration is required. Please only register for the child(ren) participating, not the adult! This program is for ages 5-8.

Anime Day: Chibi Figures Monday, April 15th is 'National Anime Day!' This program is to celebrate this event! Teens will work with Crayola Model Magic and create their own 'Manga Chibi' creation. Participants are given the main colors of red, yellow, blue, black and white to mix together to create all the colors they will use on their own chibi anime characters. All materials will be provided. Registration is required. For teens ages 12 - 17.

Historic Preservation 101 Monday, April 1st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. National register, state register, local historic district, historic resource inventories, local ordinances, tax credits, design review–what are the basics of historic preservation? Interested in learning more, join us for a special presentation by Preservation Connecticut. Registration required.

Storytime 2s & 3s Tuesday, April 2nd from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.

Playful Engineers: Artful Mechanisms! Wednesday, April 10th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Join us for this STEM focused workshop, where participants design, build, test, and construct your own 'artful mechanism' using popsicle stick linkages, and paper clip crankshafts. You'll build a basic mechanical structure, overlaying your own design as the output to send a message, tell a story, accomplish a task, or bring a character to life. Registration required, ages 6 and up.
