Newspapers With Your Library Card Saturday, February 22nd from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Trumbull Library System provides online access to local newspapers such as Trumbull Times and Connecticut Post, but also national publications like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Oscar Talk with Film Critic Joe Meyers Tuesday, February 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Joe Meyers returns for his annual Oscar talk & discussion. Meyers will discuss the history of the Academy Awards and this year’s slate of nominees, as well as who he thinks might win at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 2nd. Meyers will also moderate a discussion with the participants on what they think of this year’s batch of movies and those that received nominations. Register here.

Explore Virtual Reality Sunday, March 2nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Get ready for a journey like no other. Join Xperiment Virtual Reality as they bring you 360 virtual reality content. Xperiment VR uses the latest computing technology that supports room-scale Virtual Reality experiences. Room-Scale gives the player freedom to walk around, dodge, and duck in a virtual world. You will be able to see, hear, and sense the virtual world you are in thus providing you with a new way not only to experience gaming but also a new way to learn. Stop by to see what it can do. Drop-in Game Night Monday, March 3rd from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Looking for some new board game buddies? Curious to try out different games? Stop by and play games like Scattergories, Cranium, Chess. Bring a friend, and feel free to bring your own game to teach. Registration requested but not required. Drop in with the family to explore tabletop games at the library.

Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, March 5th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! We read a wide variety of popular fiction and across the genres of nonfiction. March’s book selection is Solito: A Memoir by Javier Zamora. Register here.

Silent Book Club Thursday, March 6th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Register here.

Pajama Storytime (Ages 3-6) Wednesday February 26th from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Put on your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join Miss Kristine for storytime and a simple craft! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, March 7th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Joy Blooms Bubble Poppin' Boogie (Ages 2-5) Thursday, February 27th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Let’s Bubble Poppin’ Boogie! Get ready to sing, dance, and pop bubbles in this interactive music and storytime adventure with Joy Blooms! Perfect for kids who love music, movement, and a whole lot of fun. Register here.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, February 25th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4

Namaste Yoga for Children Thursday, February 27th from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Join Krista Boyer for a fun, interactive yoga class for children ages 6 to 10. Draw Funny Stuff Cartoon Program Saturday, March 8th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Join Debi the "cow-toonist" in creating your own CARTOON. For this program we will be learning Manga-Chibi Cartooning. Kids have fun as they work on Manga and Chibi cartoon basics such as drawing faces, expressions, and how to create different action poses, with lots of movement and expression. Ages 7-10.
