Poetry Workshop: The Alchemy of Peer-Workshopping Your Poems Sunday, June 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Peer feedback can provide enormous value to the poetry revision process. But what is good workshop etiquette, and what is the difference between editing and revising? Why are we sometimes resistant to accept constructive criticism, as well as give honest feedback, and how can we overcome those obstacles? What makes a strong poem, and how can we ensure that both positive and negative feedback is constructive and actionable? Join poet, author, educator Nicole Caruso Garcia. The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, June 11th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. Silent Book Club Thursday, June 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Trumbull Library 50th Birthday Celebration with Joe Carter Samba Rio Trio Saturday, June 14th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Trumbull Library is turning 50! Come join us for a morning performance with Trumbull musician, Joe Carter, followed by a new library identity reveal and birthday cake! The Joe Carter Samba Rio Trio celebrates the music of Brazil – Samba, Bossa Nova, Choro, Baiao and more. Their repertoire features songs by Brazil’s classic composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Moacir Santos, Jacob do Bandolim, Luiz Bonfa, Pixinguinha, Baden Powell, Ary Barroso and others.

Ear Wax Sessions: Father's Day Edition Sunday, June 15th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join the local monthly active listening collective for a special Father's Day. Bring your family and a vinyl record dedicated to your dad to play live. Earwax Sessions lives as an open platform for music lovers to connect, listen, and learn together. LGBTQ+ 101 with Triangle Community Center Monday, June 23rd from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join us for a foundational training and space for learning, reflection, and team-building for allies and LGBTQ+ folks alike. The goal is to engage participants in a thorough overview of the LGBTQ+ community. From terminology and definitions to rethinking historical and traditional assumptions about gender and sexuality, this training is a must for all those who wish to build ever-more inclusive and affirming practices. Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, June 9th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

New Baby Meet-Up (parent & baby) Tuesday, June 10th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your infant to the library for a casual meet-up with other new parents. A perfect opportunity to meet other new parents, chat, compare experiences, find parenting resources, and get out with your new baby. No registration required.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, June 11th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Thursday, June 12th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, June 13th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Visit From The Tooth Fairy Friday, June 13th from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Come in and meet the Tooth Fairy. We will play a game, read a story, and learn how to keep our teeth healthy. Ages 2-6.

Smile For You Bracelet Making Saturday, June 14th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join the library and local teen volunteer group, Smile For You, to craft greeting cards and bracelets. All items created during the event will be donated to children currently admitted at Stamford Hospital. All materials will be provided. Open to children in Grades 4 and up. Registration is required.

Teen ArtClub Wednesday, June 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. During art club, teens will have the option to either work on a special art project that will be determined each month or they can bring in their own personal projects from home. Teens are encouraged, but not required, to bring their sketch books to share with other members. For teens ages 12-17. Register here.
