LGBTQ+ 101 with Triangle Community Center Monday, June 23rd from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join us for a foundational training and space for learning, reflection, and team-building for allies and LGBTQ+ folks alike. The goal is to engage participants in a thorough overview of the LGBTQ+ community. From terminology and definitions to rethinking historical and traditional assumptions about gender and sexuality, this training is a must for all those who wish to build ever-more inclusive and affirming practices. Trivia: All Things Connecticut Tuesday, June 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come enjoy this unique "All Things Connecticut" Trivia Program.  How well do you know the people, history and events of our great state?  From inventors and scientists to authors and athletes, leaders and difference-makers - their accomplishments and their legacies.  Come test your knowledge, learn something new and have fun celebrating CT – you'll even have a chance at winning a prize! Career Coach Mobile Classroom: Microsoft Word Wednesday, June 25th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join this computer class and learn all the basics of Microsoft Word. You will learn how to control and organize the menu bar at the top of the screen in software; get better at moving around on the computer using just the keyboard, not the mouse; learn how to efficiently use the buttons and menus at the top of computer programs to accomplish your tasks effectively; and discover handy shortcuts you can use to finish up your document faster! Understanding QR Codes Thursday, June 26th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You've seen them on menus, advertisements, even our posters here at the library. But what are they? In this presentation, we'll explain what QR codes are, how to use them, and even how to create your own. Register here.

Summer Reading Kick-off: Laurel City Historical Fencing (All ages) Saturday, June 21st from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come watch as our friends from Laurel City Historical Fencing explain how the past can be fun in the present. Step into the world of knights and armor to get a glimpse of how weapons were used, learn weapon techniques, and watch how to properly put armor on a knight. Just when you think that this stuff is relegated to the past and that you can’t be a knight in shining armor today, we'll discuss how these old manuscripts can be used today to practice HEMA, or Historical European Martial Arts. Register here. 

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, June 23rd from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, June 23rd from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Tuesday, June 24th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

New Baby Meet-Up (parent & baby) Tuesday, June 24th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your infant to the library for a casual meet-up with other new parents. A perfect opportunity to meet other new parents, chat, compare experiences, find parenting resources, and get out with your new baby.  No registration required.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, June 25th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

PJ Story Time (Ages 3-6) Wednesday, June 25th from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Put on your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join Miss Kristine for storytime and coloring! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

Preschool Time (Ages 3-5) Thursday, June 30th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required. 

Family Movie Matinee Friday, June 27th from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come and join us at the library for a fun family movie. We will watch My Neighbor Totoro, Rated G. Please bring something comfy to sit on. Register here. 

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Grades 7-12 Medieval Tabletop Gaming Saturday, June 21st from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. While waiting for our friends at Laurel City Historical Fencing to prep for their medieval demonstration, join us as the Historical Miniature Gaming Society offers participants a chance to re-enact real historical battles through tabletop miniature battles. Participants will get to control an army over to-scale diorama battlefield. Register here. 

Fandom Favorites: Felted Pikachu Tuesday, June 24th from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Needle felt everyone's favorite electric type monster. You’ll leave the class with the knowledge and basic supplies you need to continue felting on your own! This program is for ages 13-18. Registration is required.

Neurodivergent Parent Discussion Group Saturday, June 21st from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Neurodiversity promotes the idea that all brain types are valuable and should coexist without judgement. If you are a parent of a neurodiverse child and would like a chance to meet and interact with other parents, please consider dropping in. Refreshments will be served.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, June 24th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4.
