Attracting Birds by Season: Presented by Bent of the River Audubon Center Thursday, July 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Having a bird-friendly yard can make for a beautiful view. While most people think immediately of bird feeders to attract birds, we'll also discuss how enhancing your garden with native plants can attract birds and provide sustenance throughout the seasons. Registration is not required, but encouraged.

Drop In Tech Help Friday, July 25th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Feeling frustrated or simply in need of a quick tutorial? Drop-in tech help is available to assist you with less complex computer issues that require 15 -20 minutes of help.

Digital Basics: Smartphone Skills & Online Safety for Seniors Saturday, July 26th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join Dr. Bryan Terry - geriatrician, former RadioShack associate, and founder of Sensible Tech Tutors - for a friendly, hands-on workshop designed to help older adults feel more confident using their smartphones. Learn how to make calls, send texts, take and share photos, and navigate common apps. Dr. Terry will also cover essential online safety tips, including how to spot scams, avoid phishing emails, and protect your personal information. Register here.

Newspapers & Magazines With Your Library Card Wednesday, July 30th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Your library card unlocks more than just books! Learn how to access local and national newspapers - including The Trumbull Times, The Connecticut Post, and The New York Times - all online and completely free. We'll also show you how to explore Consumer Reports and other popular magazines, right from the library website, using your computer, tablet, or phone. Art of the Book Wednesday, July 30th from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Boring books be banished! Calligrapher Debby Reelitz will take us on a journey exploring creative art books and we will be making two book structures of our own. Every page is an opportunity to surprise and delight! SCORE – Developing a Business Plan: A simple approach to planning & execution Thursday, July 31st from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is an excellent place to network with other people interested in growing small businesses- whether you’re just getting started or have been in business for years, you will enjoy this refreshing perspective on achieving success. During this interactive workshop, you will start to build your business plan – your roadmap for success. You will get a pragmatic, straightforward tool for setting goals, developing action plans for achieving them, and measuring how you are doing. Register here.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, July 21st from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, July 21st from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Builders Brigade (Grade K-5) Monday, July 21st Elementary age kids can come and use their creativity to build something fun and unique using Lego blocks and Magna Tiles. All built items will remain at the library. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

New Baby Meet-Up (parent & baby) Tuesday, July 22nd from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your infant to the library for a casual meet-up with other new parents. A perfect opportunity to meet other new parents, chat, compare experiences, find parenting resources, and get out with your new baby. No registration required.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, July 23rd from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Storytelling Workshop (Grade 1-5) Wednesday, July 23rd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Frogs, Witches and Wizards, Oh, My: Story-Making Magic! Love a good story? Come be Image-Makers, Story-Builders and Word-Wizards! In this workshop for kids in grades 1-5, we will move our bodies as we explore characters from our imaginations and then create our own special story together. We may even move the story that we just created! You’ll go home with a head full of images and a new story to share! Registration is required.

Preschool Time (Ages 3-5) Thursday, July 24th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required. 

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, July 18th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Family Movie Friday, July 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and join us at the library for a fun family movie. We will watch Fantasia 2000, Rated G. Please bring something comfy to sit on. Registration is suggested.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Bring the Hoopla (Gr. 6-12) Thursday, July 31st from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring the Hoopla brings fun back to fitness where they will teach participants the basics of hooping, various hoop tricks and techniques, and offer a variety of games based around the hula hoops. This program is for grades 6 - 12. Registration is required.

Teen Speed Stacking Event Wednesday, August 6th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. SportStacking has been termed a “track meet for your hands at warp speed.” It’s an exciting sport where students up stack and down stack 12 specially designed cups called Speed Stacks in predetermined sequences as fast as they can. Stackers race against the clock, compete in relays and often combine sport stacking with fitness challenges that exercise both the body and mind. Build your hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and other fine motor skills in this high energy event. For grades 6-12. Registration required.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, July 22nd from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4

Lego Fun Time Tuesday, July 22nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Do you like Legos? Are you a master builder? Do you enjoy making Lego creations with others. Join our Lego Master Michael and show us what you can do!!! Ages 8 and up. Drop in.

Creator's Corner Drop In Wednesday, July 23rd from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Drop in and use our 3D printer to create! Ages 8 and up.

Create a Snap Circuit Thursday, July 24th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Make snap circuit creation on your own with a little help from us! Join our Master Michael and show us what you can do!!! Ages 8 and up. Drop in.
