Coastal Mix Holiday Concert Saturday, December 13th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with an afternoon of festive music performed by Coastal Mix. This talented a cappella chorus will share seasonal favorites and a variety of other selections, offering a warm and joyful musical experience for all ages. Register here.

2025: A Year in Review with Film Critic Joe Meyers Tuesday, December 16th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Was 2025 a great year for movies? Join film critic Joe Meyers to talk about the best movies of the year and the very best reasons to head to the cinema this holiday season. Join us.

Silent Book Club Thursday, December 18th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Light refreshments will also be provided, and you can also bring your own snacks or music to listen to (with headphones). Register here.

CHILDRENS

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, December 15th from 10 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, December 15th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Builders Brigade (Gr. K-5) Monday, December 15th from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Elementary age kids can come and use their creativity to build something fun and unique using Lego blocks and Magna Tiles. All built items will remain at the library. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Tuesday, December 16th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required. This program is held in the Community Room.

Book Cover Bingo (Family) Tuesday, December 16th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for a fun game of Book Cover Bingo at the library. You'll be looking for book covers instead of numbers and letters. You'll also hear about the library's newest children's books. Small prizes awarded to winners. This is an all-ages family program. Registration is required. When registering, please include the total number of people attending the program (adults too!).

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, December 17th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time (Ages 3-5) Thursday, December 18th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, December 19th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Sensory Scientists Friday, December 19th from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join Miss Katie for an afternoon of fun sensory activities! Ages 3-5. Registration is required. Please only register the child(ren) participating, not the adult.

Fleece Tie Blanket Making Saturday, December 20th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join us as local teen Mia Lorant, in collaboration with the non-profit "My Friend Abby," will lead you in how to create fleece tie blankets. Each blanket will be about 50 x 60 inches, and all blankets made will be donated to the Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center. This program is for all ages 10+, including adults, and all skill levels. Please register each person to account for supplies. 

Baby Rave II Saturday, December 20th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Baby rave is back for round two! Join Miss Katie for an afternoon of your favorite songs with a techno twist! There will low light, bubbles, and other fun sensory items for babies and toddlers to enjoy. Ages 9 months-5 yrs, siblings welcome. Registration is recommended but not required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Hand-Sewn Ornament Making Wednesday, December 17th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Teens will learn basic hand sewing techniques with presenter Abi Rivellini by creating their own snowman-themed winter ornament. For ages 12-16. Please register teen participant(s) only. Supplies and space are limited, and activities are for youth age group only. 

Teen R&R Monday, December 22nd from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. In this program, teens will be encouraged to relax with a variety of low-key activities each session. These activities will change each month but may include coloring pages, Lego blocks, simple crafts, etc. Snacks will be provided. Registration is required. Please register teen participant(s) only. For Grades 6 - 12.

Fairchild Nichols

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s, and 4s Tuesday, December 16th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Please register with us online. Ages 2-4.

Creator's Corner Drop In Wednesday, December 17th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drop in and use our 3D printer to create! Ages 8 and up.

Not Quite New Year's Eve New Year's Eve Storytime Wednesday, December 31st from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Come join us at the Fairchild Nichols Memorial library for a musical story time to celebrate not quite New Year's Eve New Year's Eve celebration! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a little bit of games and crafts. Register here. All ages welcome.
