Just Write Peer Writing Group Tuesday, January 6th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Considering a memoir? Dabbling in poetry? Composing essays? Join us at JUST WRITE – a welcoming group for adults who love putting words on the page. We share our work with fellow writers and offer positive, constructive feedback and encouragement. All types of writing are welcome: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoirs, blog posts, essays, and more. Our policy is to focus on the quality of the piece and not the content. Come to read, listen, and encourage your fellow scribblers! Registration is encouraged but not required.

Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, January 7th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! We read a wide variety of popular fiction and across the genres of nonfiction. January’s book selection is The Medicine River: A Story of Survival and the Legacy of Indian Boarding Schools by Mary Annette Pember. Register here.

Mah Jongg Open Play Wednesday, January 7th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Play Mah Jongg! This is open gameplay for players of all levels as long as you understand the basics of game play. The group will play with the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) 2025 card and rules. There will be no instruction, but some tables may be suitable for beginners. Register here.

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, January 7th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. We can’t wait to see you there. Registration is requested for the group but not required.

Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, January 8th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we discuss The Frozen River by April Lawhorn. We have a limited amount of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch circulation desk. Register here.

Develop a Capacity Plan Thursday, January 8th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Contracting with government agencies and large corporate buyers requires more than certifications and a capability statement — it requires capacity. Join Steven Semaya from the Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC) to learn more. While most procurement workshops focus on registrations (SAM.gov), SBA certifications, or how to identify opportunities, this workshop will go deeper into another critical area buyers evaluate when making buying decisions: your business’s ability to deliver. Ebooks & Audiobooks with Your Library Card Saturday, January 10th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Are you expecting to receive a phone, tablet, or laptop for the holidays? Or are you planning to gift one to someone else? Your Trumbull library card makes it even more fun! Learn how to use that new device to borrow thousands of ebooks and audiobooks for free through Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla. We’ll show you how to browse, borrow, and start reading or listening in just a few taps - no late fees, no trip to the library, and plenty of new books to enjoy in 2026! Sunday Concert: The Nu Haven Kapelye Sunday, January 11th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Trumbull Library invites audiences of all ages to join us for a dynamic educational performance featuring The Nu Haven Kapelye, Connecticut’s largest klezmer ensemble! In this lively program, the Kapelye will bring the vibrant world of klezmer music to life through spirited Eastern European Jewish melodies, engaging storytelling, and audience participation. Listeners will discover the cultural roots and historical journey of klezmer - from its origins in shtetl celebrations to its revival in modern American communities - through a mix of traditional tunes, Yiddish folk songs, and contemporary arrangements. Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, January 5th from 10 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, January 5th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Chapter Chatter Book Club Tuesday, January 6th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Join Miss Katie for the 3-5 grade book club, Chapter Chatter! We will meet monthly on Tuesdays to discuss that month's pick. The first ten children registered may pick up a library copy of that month's pick. January's pick is Stef Soto, Taco Queen by Jennifer Torres. Register here.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, January 7th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, January 9th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Teen Bites: Taste Testers Saturday, January 3rd from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Teens will be presented with a variety of mystery snack flavors and work as a team to guess what they are. Winners will get to take the rest of the snacks home. This time we will be tasting Pringles. There are almost endless Pringle flavors and we will see if we can guess what they are. Registration is required. Please only register teen participants. Supplies and space are limited, and activities are for youth group only. Please let staff know if you have allergies. For grades 6 - 9.

Therapy Dog Meet & Greet – Thor Monday, January 12th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thor is a licensed therapy dog and certified Good Boy (according to everyone at the library). Drop into the Community Room to take a break and destress from mid-terms! This program is for teens only. Registration is requested so Thor does not get overwhelmed.

We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a little bit of games and crafts. Register here. All ages welcome.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s, and 4s Tuesday, January 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Please register with us online. Ages 2-4.
