Ebooks & Audiobooks with Your Library Card Saturday, January 10th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Are you expecting to receive a phone, tablet, or laptop for the holidays? Or are you planning to gift one to someone else? Your Trumbull library card makes it even more fun! Learn how to use that new device to borrow thousands of ebooks and audiobooks for free through Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla. We’ll show you how to browse, borrow, and start reading or listening in just a few taps - no late fees, no trip to the library, and plenty of new books to enjoy in 2026! Registration is encouraged, but not required.

Sunday Concert: The Nu Haven Kapelye Sunday, January 11th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Trumbull Library invites audiences of all ages to join us for a dynamic educational performance featuring The Nu Haven Kapelye, Connecticut’s largest klezmer ensemble! In this lively program, the Kapelye will bring the vibrant world of klezmer music to life through spirited Eastern European Jewish melodies, engaging storytelling, and audience participation. Listeners will discover the cultural roots and historical journey of klezmer - from its origins in shtetl celebrations to its revival in modern American communities - through a mix of traditional tunes, Yiddish folk songs, and contemporary arrangements. Trumbull Eats: Soup-er Bowls Wednesday, January 14th from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nothing beats a bowl of homemade soup on a cold January day! We’ll cook up two cozy bowls that prove you don’t need a championship game to enjoy a winning recipe. Register here. 

Silent Book Club Thursday, January 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Light refreshments will also be provided, and you can also bring your own snacks or music to listen to (with headphones). Register here.

Drop-in Tech Help Friday, January 16th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Feeling frustrated or simply in need of a quick tutorial? Drop-in tech help is available to assist you with less complex computer issues that require 15 -20 minutes of help. 

Casual Craft Group Friday, January 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Do you enjoy crafting? Join us for Casual Crafters and meet other crafty people! Bring your current project, or start a new one, use available library craft supplies, meet other crafters, and help us create a crafting community! Join us for a relaxing drop-in program for adults. Registration encouraged but not required.

Community Puzzle Swap Saturday, January 17th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle! Join us to swap out your old jigsaw puzzles for new-to-you puzzles. Puzzles must be 300 pieces or more, in good condition, with all pieces present. Please have the puzzle pieces inside a plastic bag in the box. Registration is not required.

Navigating State Taxes: Tools, Updates, and Resources from the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services Wednesday, January 21st from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join us for an informative presentation led by a representative from the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS), offered just in time for tax season. This session will provide an overview of Connecticut state taxes, with a focus on filing and managing taxes online using the state’s MyconneCT system. Register here. 

Connecticut Museum presents: The Hartford Circus Fire Monday, January 27th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. In 1944, one of the worst fire disasters in American history occurred in Hartford. The circus fire has lived in the memories of survivors and the imaginations of Connecticans ever since. In this presentation, photos and artifacts from the Connecticut Museum’s collection will help tell the stories of that day. The presentation will examine the ways in which Connecticans have continued to identify, honor, and bring justice to the victims in the intervening decades. Register here. 

CHILDRENS

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, January 12th from 10 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Builders Brigade (Gr. K-5) Monday, January 12th from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Elementary age kids can come and use their creativity to build something fun and unique using Lego blocks and Magna Tiles. All built items will remain at the library. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, January 12th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Tuesday, January 13th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required. This program is held in the Community Room.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, January 14th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time (Ages 3-5) Thursday, January 15th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, January 16th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Minecraft Selfies Saturday, January 17th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Make your own Minecraft Selfie using gridded paper and other art supplies! Create yourself in the Minecraft style, or a character! This project is for grades 3-5 and registration is required!

Book Dragons Book Club (Gr. 1-2) Thursday, January 22nd from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This month we will be discussing Henry, Like Always by Jenn Bailey. Copies of the book will be available for check-out at the Children's Desk at the Main Branch. Registration is encouraged. 

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Therapy Dog Meet & Greet – Thor Monday, January 12th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thor is a licensed therapy dog and certified Good Boy (according to everyone at the library). Drop into the Community Room to take a break and destress from mid-terms! This program is for teens only. Registration is requested so Thor does not get overwhelmed.

Teen Meditation & Sound Bath Thursday, January 22nd from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. We are so happy that you can join us for this relaxing sound bath at the library. Take a step back from the stress of your midterms with this meditative exercise. A sound bath uses gongs and Himalayan singing bowls to help you relax, refocus, and reset. To have the best experience please dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat and/or a blanket. If you feel more comfortable sitting, you may bring a folding or zero gravity chairs instead. Registration is required. For Grades 8 - 12.

Fairchild Nichols

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s, and 4s Tuesday, January 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Register here. Ages 2-4.

Krista's Kids Yoga Wednesday, January 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Join Krista Boyer for a fun, interactive yoga class for children ages 3 to 6. Bring a mat or towel, bring a water bottle, wear your comfortable clothes and join us for a "zen" 45 minutes of relaxation for your little ones and their caregivers. No previous yoga experience required. Register here.  

Creator's Corner Drop-in Wednesday, January 14th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Drop in and use our 3D printer to create! Ages 8 and up.
