The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, February 18th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group! We will meet every other Wednesday. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. Silent Book Club Thursday, February 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Light refreshments will also be provided, and you can also bring your own snacks or music to listen to (with headphones). Reading time is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Register here.
Sunday Concert: A Tribute to Dean Martin Sunday, February 22nd from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dean Martin, the consummate performer. Dino did it all – recording artist, comedian, actor, TV star and night club performer. No one else could put across a romantic, Italian love song like Dino and he is still one of the most beloved singer/crooners of all time. Performing a tribute to Dean Martin and Pals, is Jack Lynn. Genealogy I Tuesday, February 24th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Carol Ansel, Director at the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, will present the ABC’s of beginning genealogy, with an emphasis on the 8 (or so) basic types of genealogical records—where you can find them and how best to use them. She will include plenty of personal anecdotes to help you learn from both her mistakes and her successes. If you don’t know about the Godfrey Library, you will by the end of the presentation.
