New Muse Productions presents: The Odyssey Sunday, April 26th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. What is the cost of our choices? Can love sustain across time, war and distance? Can you ever really find your way home? Join actors Stephen Collins and Poornima Kirby as they take on this three-thousand-year-old epic about the adventures of a wily and complicated traveler. This two-person, one-hour adaptation draws from multiple translations, punctuated with poetry and sea-chanties to connect this age-old epic to our modern time. Register here.

Poetry Workshop: What Makes a Poem a Poem? Sunday, April 26th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. What transforms a handful of words into something that startles, moves, or stays with us? What makes a poem more than prose broken into lines? In this welcoming workshop for teens and adults, we’ll explore the craft choices—sound, rhythm, imagery, voice, and line—that turn everyday language into art. Come curious—and leave with a deeper understanding of what makes a poem a poem, and perhaps one of your own. Register here.

Local Author Talk with Dr. Maryam Kamali Monday, April 27th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Iran is in the midst of a nationwide revolution that began in late December 2025. The Islamic Republic regime responded by shutting down the internet and killing tens of thousands of defenseless people. Please join us in this illuminating talk with author Dr. Maryam Kamali, who published her memoir, An Iranian Woman Passing Through the Age of Darkness. Her memoir vividly depicts her life journey from a small town in Iran and the everyday lives of Iranian people who seek to live in peace and prosperity, yet whose voices are being silenced.
