Holiday Donations: This holiday season we are not accepting food donations or hosting holiday food drives. (unless previously arranged with the staff). Due to the Coronavirus, our holiday donations procedure has temporarily changed. It is out of an abundance of caution to protect clients, staff, donors and volunteers. Tax-deductible donations in the form of cash or gift cards (Stop and Shop, Big Y, Target, Walmart, etc.) will ensure that families receive the help they need during the holidays. Monetary donations are also welcome. You can donate online or contributions are accepted by mail to the Department of Human Services 23 Priscilla Place Trumbull, CT 06611. Please make checks payable to “Trumbull Human Services,” memo line is optional: food pantry, emergency financial assistance, or home delivered meals. 100% of your donation goes directly to helping meet the basic needs of Trumbull Residents.
Food Pantry Donations: It is with our most heartfelt thanks to the Trumbull community for the support of our Trumbull food pantry. The response to your neighbor’s needs has been a real success! At this the time, the pantry is overflowing (past capacity) with wonderful items form your donations. There are only a few items that we continually need. The Pantry is available to all Trumbull residents who meet income guidelines or are facing food insecurity. We do not turn anyone away. We encourage residents to reach out who may be facing an unexpected circumstance such as a layoff or illness. During difficult times, we want to reduce the stress our families face by meeting a basic need.
The Pantry is located at the rear of The Center at Priscilla Place. Shopping is by appointment only to ensure the confidentiality of all shoppers.
Residents may shop once a calendar month for shelf stable items and personal care items and can shop weekly for fresh produce and bagels. Exceptions can always be made.
