Drop-in: Cut, Craft & Create Saturday, May 26th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for simple and easy crafts and fun. No artistic skill is necessary. Registration is requested but not required for this event.

Yoga at the Library Tuesday, May 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join Joanne Orenstein, Health & Wellness Director at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, for an hour of Vinyasa Yoga. Register here. 

The Yarn Darling Wednesday, May 31st from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. Registration is requested for the group but not required. Basic knitting and crocheting help are available upon request.

Friends of the Trumbull Library Meeting Thursday, June 1st from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a regular meeting of the Friends of the Trumbull Library. All are invited to attend. The Friends are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to advocate and raise funds for the Trumbull Library. DIY: Polymer Clay Candlesticks Tuesday, June 6th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for a fun afternoon craft! Participants will use polymer clay to create their very own set of polymer clay candle holders. All supplies are included. Registration is required for this event.

Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, June 7th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! We read a wide variety of popular fiction and across the genres of nonfiction. June book selection: THE SUM OF US by Heather McGhee. Join us.

The Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, June 8th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we discuss Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid. We meet every second Thursday of the month. We have a limited amount of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch. Hope to see you there!

Reading with Antoinette Brim-Bell Connecticut's Poet Laureate Sunday, June 11th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friends of the Trumbull Library presents a visit with Antoinette Brim-Bell, Connecticut's 8th Poet Laureate. Join us at the main library branch for an engaging afternoon of poetry and discussion with Antoinette Brim-Bell.  Author of three full-length poetry collections: These Women You Gave Me, Icarus in Love, and Psalm of the Sunflower. She is a Cave Canem Foundation Fellow and an alumna of Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation (VONA).  Brim-Bell was nominated for the Pushcart Prize twice; for poetry and essay. Registration is required for this event.

Children's and Teen Programming

Lotus Lantern Craft Saturday, June 3rd from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will show patrons the step by step process to make a lovely lotus flower lantern using colored paper and wire frames. Afterwards, they will show a documentary film on Korean history and culture. All materials will be provided. Supplies will be limited so registration is required. This is a family program, but attendees must be at least 10 years of age - this requirement is by the presenter and thus will be strictly enforced. Register here.

Toddler Time for 2's and 3's Monday, June 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. Drop in!

Baby Time Tuesday, June 6th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Join Miss Elise in the Community Room for story time! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. We have a limited number of seat cushions for sitting on the floor, so families are invited to bring blankets or towels as well. Registration is not required.

Fairchild-Nichols Programming

Storytime 2s and 3s Tuesday, May 30th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.

Creators' Corner Exploration Wednesday, May 31st from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Join us at the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Library and learn to use our 3D printer. If you are interested in attending or using the 3D printer please email Paula Carlson: pcarlson@trumbull-ct.gov
