Hand Embroidery Summer Brooches Saturday, July 6th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Take a break from the heat and make a hand embroidered brooch with bright colors and your choice of summery design.  We'll start by learning basic embroidery stitches and try a few more complicated ones before jumping into our project.  You'll learn how to set up a new project including how to transfer designs to your fabric.  We'll finish our project by mounting it onto a backing with a pin. Registration required.

Summer Reading Kickoff: Adventure of the Lost Treasure Saturday, June 22nd from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Join us on a treasure-hunting adventure deep within the jungle! The audience helps the performer act out the tale, as we use the events in the story to explore several exciting science concepts: Air pressure, Energy transfer, Physical vs. chemical changes and more! Experience the fusion of science and stories with Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure!" Grades K-5. Register here.

Toddler Time for 2s & 3s Monday, June 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. 

Baby Time Tuesday, June 25th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Story Time Thursday, June 27th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie for storytime! Listen to stories and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Music for Little Ones Friday, June 28th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Join Julie Stepanek for a fun and energetic music program featuring an electric ukulele, shakers, scarves, and some of your favorite songs! Ages 1-5. Registration is required.

Choose Your Own Adventure: Haunting of Hound House Monday, July 1st from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. You've heard stories about Jasper Chase and his pack of hounds. One day, he and his dogs went into his estate and never came out. Now there are rumors that his crumbling estate is haunted. You try to avoid the place, but one day you're passing by while on a walk with your dog, Zeke. Zeke studdenly bolts inside the manor, the door shutting behind him. You have to rescue your dog! Are you brave enough to venture inside? Make decisions as you explore the house, but beware! One wrong turn could be your last. Ages 8-12. Registration is required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Teen Pirate Crafternoon Thursday, June 27th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this event teens will get to make their own pirate themed slime and create their own seashell ornaments. All supplies will be provided. Registration required. For ages 12 - 17.

Cryptid Crafting Wednesday, July 3rd from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Teens ages 12-17 will get to make either Nessie or the Mothman out of felt using templates. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required. Note: There will be sewing involved.

Book Talk: Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places Wednesday, June 26th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Understanding and appreciating Connecticut’s built environment is at the center of Preservation Connecticut’s mission.  A new book, Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places demonstrates the diversity of Connecticut architecture and the many ways our buildings express the lives and ideals of their creators and users. Authored by Preservation Connecticut Deputy Director Christopher Wigren, this book promises to be an important resource for years to come. In his guide, Wigren introduces readers – visitors and residents alike – to 100 places that reflect the diversity of Connecticut. Registration required, ages 12 and up.

Music with Tom Weber Thursday, July 11th from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join us for a fun morning with Tom Weber! Tom’s performances are filled with interactive movement, props, singing, dancing, and lots of energy. His repertoire includes original songs as well as traditional favorites. Tom’s music is intended to get children moving, singing, feeling confident, and having fun! Registration required, all ages.
