Author Talk - Connecticut 169 Club: Your Passport and Guide to Exploring CT Monday, July 1st from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Join us for a talk with author and historian Marty Podskoch and his book, The Connecticut 169 Club: Your Passport and Guide to Exploring Connecticut. The new travel book encourages travelers to visit all the towns and villages of our beautiful and unique state. Join us!

Fairfield County's Role in the American Revolution Tuesday, July 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Local independent scholar Robert Foley will be discussing "Fairfield County's Role in the American Revolution" in an interactive presentation. Hand Embroidery Summer Brooches Saturday, July 6th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Take a break from the heat and make a hand embroidered brooch with bright colors and your choice of summery design.  We'll start by learning basic embroidery stitches and try a few more complicated ones before jumping into our project.  You'll learn how to set up a new project including how to transfer designs to your fabric.  We'll finish our project by mounting it onto a backing with a pin. Registration required.

SCORE: Things You Need to Know About Funding Your Nonprofit Thursday, July 11th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Find out the different ways to raise money for your nonprofit organization and the importance of diversifying support. Traditional fundraising through grants continues to serve as a reliable source, but should not be the only thing that an organization relies on to meet its goals. Register here.

Origami for Beginners Friday, July 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Have you ever wanted to create a crane or a flower out of paper? If you are one of many who wants to learn the art of Origami, then here is your chance! Join Ariss as he shows you the basic foldings of Origami. This class teaches you how to make a paper crane, frog, duck, box, star, and flowers. No experience is required…just know how to fold paper. What are you waiting for? Register here. 

Trivia Nights: Music Tuesday, July 16th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come join us for some fun MUSIC TRIVIA... all-original music trivia questions that span many generations and music genres.  We'll throw in a little "Name that Tune" of sorts to keep you on your toes...  We know Elvis is the King but let's see who the real music champs are... If you like music, you're gonna have to be here for this one. Register here.

Toddler Time for 2s & 3s Monday, July 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. 

Baby Time Tuesday, July 2nd from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Percy Jackson Party Tuesday, July 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join Miss Katie and Miss Nevada for a night at Camp Half-Blood! Campers will make an easy craft followed by a few rounds of Percy Jackson trivia. Prizes will be awarded for the winners! This event is for ages 9-17 and registration is required. Please only register for the child(ren) participating, not the adult. 

Star Wars Saturday, July 13th Join members of the Saber Guild Kessel Temple for The Padawan Training Institute! Younglings (ages 6-10) learn about the ways of the Force and how to wield a lightsaber from real Jedi Masters! At the conclusion of the program, younglings are given the rank of "Padawan"! Ages 6-10. Space is limited. Registration is required. Please only register the number of children attending. There are three sessions: 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. Please register for only one session.

KIDTEEN

Medieval Stained Glass Thursday, July 11th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Create your own stained glass pattern to hang in your window using transparent sheets and sharpie markers. Various patterns will be available to trace. For teens ages 12-17. Registration is required. 

Teen Space Dioramas Monday, July 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Make an out of this world diorama that is straight out of space at this event! Teens ages 12 through 17 will use shoeboxes, plastic miniatures, construction paper, pebbles and glue to create their own distinctive space-scapes. All supplies are included. Registration is requested but not required for this event.

Buildwave Workshop Tuesday, July 16th from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. A high energy creative building event that encourages imaginative play and collaboration. Want to foster your child's interest in STEM, while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of the workshop students create with over a dozen different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. Registration required, ages 6 and up.

Art Attack with Deb Dean: Mask Making Wednesday, July 17th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Let your creativity flow with this activity, where young kids make their own masks. Registration required, ages 7 and up.
