Adult Programming

Getting Started with Your Trumbull Library Account Online Tuesday, September 17th from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Learn how to manage your borrower account online, either through a desktop computer or your phone. We’ll show you how to see what items you have checked out, renew items, pay fines, reset your PIN, and more. Drop in, registration not required.

Women & Money Roundtable Wednesday, September 18th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Join Financial Advisors Julia Strayer and Liz Maccarone as they host The Women and Money Roundtable. This series is a virtual, monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. The program provides information, resources and learning activities to educate and create a safe and welcoming place for women to learn, share their experiences, and ask questions. This program is in partnership with libraries throughout the Tri-State area. Register here. 

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, September 18th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group The Yarn Darlings! We will meet every other Wednesday. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. We can’t wait to see you there. Registration is requested for the group but not required. 

eBooks & Audiobooks With Your Library Card Thursday, September 19th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Trumbull Library System not only has books and DVDs, but also ebooks and audiobooks that you can access online. This session will show how to search for and check out these types of materials through Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla. Drop in, registration not required.

Adult Programming

Passport Services Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are happy to partner with the Ferguson Library’s U.S. Passport Center to host passport clinics at Trumbull Library. Their team will Process U.S. passport applications; Guide those that are processing renewals for adults; Take passport photo; Provide all forms; Make copies of all documents; Credit card and cash processing. Please be aware that the payment to The U.S. Department of State for the passport book or card, must be made with a check or money order. The payment for processing and pictures, that is made to the Ferguson Library, can only be paid cash, debit, or credit card. Long Term Planning Monday, September 23rd from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Learn the process of setting up a long-term care plan. Discover valuable resources on the medical, financial, legal and emotional aspects of long-term care planning. Register here. 

AARP Fraud Watch Network Tuesday, September 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Led by presenters, John Wilson and Harry Hom, this session looks at the psychology behind ID theft, fraud & scams through actual footage of scammers, insights, and advice. Walk away armed with tools to spot the criminals and stop them in their tracks. Register here.

Toddler Time (Ages 2-3) Monday, September 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Toddler time is now drop in! Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3.

Baby Time Tuesday, September 17th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time Thursday, September 19th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie for storytime! Listen to stories and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, September 20th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

PJ Storytime Monday, September 23rd from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Put on your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join Miss Nevada for storytime and a simple craft! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Introduction to Your College Application Essay Wednesday, September 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jason Howard is a CT certified teacher and tutor offering students and parents a free, detailed, interactive, "how-to" discussion of the five steps to a winning college essay: research, planning, brainstorming, writing and revising. The presentation is 45 minutes long followed by a 15-minute Q&A. During the presentation, students are encouraged to begin drafting their own essay. Register here.
