Passport Services Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are happy to partner with the Ferguson Library’s U.S. Passport Center to host passport clinics at Trumbull Library. Their team will Process U.S. passport applications; Guide those that are processing renewals for adults; Take passport photo; Provide all forms; Make copies of all documents; Credit card and cash processing. Long Term Planning Monday, September 23rd from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Learn the process of setting up a long-term care plan. Discover valuable resources on the medical, financial, legal and emotional aspects of long-term care planning. Register here. 

AARP Fraud Watch Network Tuesday, September 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Led by presenters, John Wilson and Harry Hom, this session looks at the psychology behind ID theft, fraud & scams through actual footage of scammers, insights, and advice. Walk away armed with tools to spot the criminals and stop them in their tracks. Register here. 

Career Coach Mobile Classroom: Intro to Excel Wednesday, September 25th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Learn the basics of Excel (such as inserting text, basic formulas, AutoFill and more). Please register for morning session or the afternoon session.

Health Directions Lunch & Learn: How to Avoid Costly Mistakes with Medicare Thursday, September 26th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Join Sheila O'Donnell of Health Directions as she hosts an educational presentation on the topic, How to Avoid Costly Mistakes with Medicare. The content of the presentation is aimed at individuals who are approaching 65 or those who are 65+ and thinking about retirement. Light lunch will be served. Register here. 

Meet the Chef: Raul from Lobo Reys Thursday, September 26th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Leading up to Trumbull Restaurant Week, join us for a special program featuring Raul Rivera, chef and owner of Lobo Reys Kitchen, which provides takeout and catering featuring Latin fusion cuisine. He'll talk about how he got into the food industry, answer questions, and demonstrate a recipe. Registration not required.

Puzzle Swap Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle! Join us to swap out your old jigsaw puzzles for new-to-you puzzles. Puzzles must be 300 pieces or more, in good condition, with all pieces present. Please have the puzzle pieces inside a plastic bag in the box. Registration is not required. Register if you would like a reminder two days before the event. 

EDIT Book Group Discussion Monday, September 30th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. For National Banned Book Week, join members of Trumbull's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force (EDIT) for a community conversation. They will discuss Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe. Copies of book are still available at the Circulation Desk. Register here.

PJ Storytime Monday, September 23rd from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Put on your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join Miss Nevada for storytime and a simple craft! Ages 3-6. Registration is required.

Baby Time Tuesday, September 24th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Introduction to Your College Application Essay Wednesday, September 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jason Howard is a CT certified teacher and tutor offering students and parents a free, detailed, interactive, "how-to" discussion of the five steps to a winning college essay: research, planning, brainstorming, writing and revising. The presentation is 45 minutes long followed by a 15-minute Q&A. During the presentation, students are encouraged to begin drafting their own essay. Register here.

Horror(ble) Boardgames Saturday, October 5th from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join us for a series of spooky-season themed boardgames: Betrayal at House on the Hill & Mysterium. Games will deal with horror elements; for ages 13-17 only. Registration is required.

Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places Wednesday, October 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Understanding and appreciating Connecticut’s built environment is at the center of Preservation Connecticut’s mission.  A new book, Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places demonstrates the diversity of Connecticut architecture and the many ways our buildings express the lives and ideals of their creators and users. Authored by Preservation Connecticut Deputy Director Christopher Wigren, this book promises to be an important resource for years to come. In his guide, Wigren introduces readers – visitors and residents alike – to 100 places that reflect the diversity of Connecticut. Registration required, ages 16 and up.
