Nonfiction Book Group Wednesday, January 8th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consider this your invitation to read and discuss nonfiction! We read a wide variety of popular fiction and across the genres of nonfiction. January’s book selection is A Fever in the Heartland: The Ku Klux Klan's Plot to Take Over America, and the Woman Who Stopped Them. Register here. 

Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, January 9th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we read and discuss Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. We have a limited number of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch circulation desk. Hope to see you there!

Silent Book Club Thursday, January 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. You are also welcome to bring music (with headphones) or a snack to enjoy during this time. Join us!

Li Garden Dance Company Chinese Dance Performance Saturday, January 11th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join us for a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year! This festive program will feature traditional Chinese folk-dance performances by Li-Garden Dance Company, showcasing four unique and captivating dance pieces. Between each performance, we’ll have a special Chinese calligraphy demonstration to introduce you to the beauty and artistry of Chinese characters. After the performances, stay for an interactive session where you can ask questions about Chinese culture, take photos with colorful props, and let young children experience the fun firsthand! Make Ahead Meals: Secrets to Success with Meal Prep Tuesday, January 14th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Planning to eat healthy in the new year? Join ShopRite Dietitian Siddhi Sheth for a showcase on make ahead meals. She will demonstrate recipes and techniques to make your mealtimes a success and provide tips to manage around busy routines. Samples will be provided so please share any dietary or allergy restrictions while registering. Register here.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, January 3rd from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical story time! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcomed. Registration is not required.

Mini Artists Friday, January 3rd from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. A creative and messy art class where we focus on the process rather than the finished product. Ages 3-5. Registration is required.

Preschool Time Thursday, January 6th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required. 

Toddler Time (Walkers-3) Monday, January 7th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Chapter Chatter Book Club Tuesday, January 7th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Join Miss Katie for the 3-5 grade book club, Chapter Chatter! We will meet monthly on Tuesdays at 6PM to discuss that month's pick. The first ten children registered may pick up a library copy of that month's pick! January's pick is Cape by Kate Hannigan. Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, January 8th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking.  Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Teen ArtClub Wednesday, January 8th from 5:30 p.m. During art club, teens will have the option to either work on a special art project that will be determined each month or they can bring in their own personal projects from home. Teens are encouraged, but not required, to bring their sketch books to share with other members. For teens ages 12-17. Register here.

Furry Scaly Friends: Tween & Teen De-stressor Wednesday, January 15th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tired from studying? Worried how you might be doing on your mid-terms? Just want to snuggle with some cute, cuddly critters? Join us as Marisa from "Furry Scaly Friends" brings a whole host of animals that you can pet, pick up, and feed! Some animals include, but not limited to, guinea pigs, rabbits, a bearded dragon, iguana, ferrets, and a hedgehog. Additional animals for observation and hand feeding only will include an axolotl, prairie dogs, and sugar glider. Registration is required: we don't want to overwhelm the animals! For grades 6-12.

Fairchild Nichols

Make your own Snowflake Wednesday, January 8th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Come by and make your own large snowflake to hang up like the ones on display in our Children's Department. Ages 10-12. Two crafts per person. Registration required.

Repurpose a Beloved Book Monday, January 13th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Turn your favorite book into a scrapbook, travel memento, or photo album. For teens or adults. Cut, paint, and decorate, add photo corners and headings, transforming a book into a personal work of art. Repurpose library discards, hardcovers, or any book that you want to turn into a keepsake.  All materials will be provided. Extra discarded books will be on hand to also pick from. Register here. 

Storytime (Ages 2-4) Tuesday, January 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4.
