Women and Money Roundtable: How to Make Sense of Today's Financial Markets Wednesday, February 12th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Join Financial Advisors Julia Strayer and Liz Maccarone as they host The Women and Money Roundtable. This series is a virtual, monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. The program provides information, resources and learning activities to educate and create a safe and welcoming place for women to learn, share their experiences, and ask questions. SCORE: Selling Yourself in the First Five Minutes Thursday, February 13th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. People buy you and me first, before they consider our product or service, our point of view or opinion, our advice or suggestion. And they make that decision in five minutes. That’s not a lot of time to build trust and credibility. We’ll explore the psychology behind selling yourself (in your personal and business life) quickly and genuinely, in today’s fast-paced world. Register here. 

Newspapers With Your Library Card Saturday, February 22nd from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Trumbull Library System provides online access to local newspapers such as Trumbull Times and Connecticut Post, but also national publications like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. We’ll show you how to access these papers with your library card through the library website. Register here. 

Oscar Talk with Film Critic Joe Meyers Tuesday, February 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Joe Meyers returns for his annual Oscar talk & discussion. Meyers will discuss the history of the Academy Awards and this year’s slate of nominees, as well as who he thinks might win at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 2nd. Meyers will also moderate a discussion with the participants on what they think of this year’s batch of movies and those that received nominations. Register here.

Explore Virtual Reality Sunday, March 2nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Get ready for a journey like no other. Join Xperiment Virtual Reality as they bring you 360 virtual reality content. Xperiment VR uses the latest computing technology that supports room-scale Virtual Reality experiences. Room-Scale gives the player freedom to walk around, dodge, and duck in a virtual world. You will be able to see, hear, and sense the virtual world you are in thus providing you with a new way not only to experience gaming but also a new way to learn. Stop by to see what it can do. Toddler Time (Walkers-3) Monday, February 10th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time Monday, February 10th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Heart Goldfish Bowl Tuesday, February 11th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Make a cute Valentine's Day themed craft with Miss Katie! Registration is required! Ages 5-8/Grades K-3, but older siblings are welcome! Please only register the child(ren) participating, not the adult. 

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, February 12th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking.  Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Book Dragons Book Club (Grades 1-2) Wednesday, February 12th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This month we are reading Big Foot and Little Foot by Ellen Potter. Read the book on your own and then join us at the library for a fun discussion, related activity, and snack.* First 10 kids to register may pick up a library copy of the book to borrow at the desk in the Children's Department. Register here.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Origami Flowers Wednesday, February 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Teens will get to make a bouquet of origami flowers. For teens ages 12 - 17. Registration is required.

Teen ArtClub Wednesday February 19th from 5:30 p.m. During art club, teens will have the option to either work on a special art project that will be determined each month or they can bring in their own personal projects from home. Teens are encouraged, but not required, to bring their sketch books to share with other members. For teens ages 12 - 17. Register here.

Tiny Tales (Ages 2-4) Tuesday, February 11th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required.

Namaste Yoga for Children Thursday, February 27th from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Join Krista Boyer for a fun, interactive yoga class for children ages 6 to 10. Bring a mat, bring a water bottle wear your comfortable clothes and join us for a Zen 45 minutes of relaxation. No previous yoga experience required. Please register here.
