Adult Programming

Puzzle Swap Saturday, March 15th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle! Join us to swap out your old jigsaw puzzles for new-to-you puzzles. Puzzles must be 300 pieces or more, in good condition, with all pieces present. Please have the puzzle pieces inside a plastic bag in the box. Registration is not required. Register if you would like a reminder two days before the event. 

Tales of Ancient Celts - CJ May Sunday, March 16th from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Travel back in time to ancient Ireland and other Celtic lands through this storytelling presentation by seanachie, CJ May. These legends of monsters, magic and heroes will be offered in much of their original "gritty glory" and are intended for adult audiences. Register here.

Job Search Tools With Your Library Card Thursday, March 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Need help writing your resume, preparing for an interview, or searching for the right job? We’ll demonstrate the online job search tools that you can get from the Trumbull Library System website. Register here. 

Financial Tools With Your Library Card Saturday, March 22nd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In this session, we’ll look at online resources related to business and finance. Learn how to research stocks, mutual funds and companies, as well as articles/books on starting and running a small business. Register here.

Trumbull Historical Society Presents: 300 Years of Connecticut's Remarkable Women Sunday, March 23rd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for an engaging multimedia presentation by the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame, highlighting the inspiring stories of Connecticut's most remarkable women. Discover the achievements of well-known figures such as Ella Grasso, Katharine Hepburn, and Marian Anderson, as well as lesser-known heroines like Maria Sanchez, Barbara McClintock, and Hannah Watson. This program offers an overview of the Hall's mission and showcases some of its 125 inductees from diverse fields, including politics, sports, arts, and sciences. Register here. 

EDIT Book Group Monday, March 24th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join members of Trumbull's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force (EDIT) for a community conversation. This session we are reading THE GOOD IMMIGRANT: 27 Writers Reflect on America. Copies are available at the circulation desk. Register here. 

Irish Famine Immigrants of Connecticut Saturday, March 29th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Irish immigrants who survived the Irish Famine embarked on perilous sea journeys, arriving at the Port of New York filled with hope. For many, this destination marked the beginning of a new life in a new land; for others, it was the end of their journey. Thousands of Irish famine immigrants perished at the Staten Island Marine Hospital and Quarantine Station, currently the location of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and its surroundings. Please join Philip R. Hogan and Chrystyne Maloney to learn more about the historical significance of Staten Island to Irish Famine Immigrant history, their experiences at the Quarantine, and learn more about the new museum in Fairfield. Registration encouraged.

CHILDRENS

Negative Space Butterfly Saturday, March 15th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Children will receive a black cut out of a butterfly and choose to either fill in the space around it, or the space inside of it to create their own unique project! Ages 8-12/Grades 3-6. Register here.

Toddler Time (Walkers-3) Monday, March 17th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time Monday, March 17th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week Story Time Monday, March 17th from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Come and join us for some stories of neurodiversity. This will be a sensory story time and all are welcome.

Toddler Time (Walkers-3) Tuesday, March 18th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Sports Craft Night Tuesday, March 18th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for some super fun sports themed crafts! Ages 3-6. Registration is required. Please register only the child(ren) participating, NOT the adult.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Wednesday, March 19th All day Drop-off your favorite stuffie or doll for a sleepover at the library. Your BFF will have tons of fun and we will take pictures to send. Drop-off will be Wednesday, March 19th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and you can pick them up on Thursday, March 20th.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, March 19th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking.  Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time Thursday, March 20th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, March 21st from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

Little Scientists Friday, March 21st from Join us for hands-on, messy activities focused on different scientific topics. Ages 3-5.Registration is required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Clay Leprechaun Fairy Houses Saturday, March 22nd from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join Artist Deb Jaffe for a fun creative class where each participant will make their own Leprechaun themed fairy house from polymer clay. Deb will guide even the least creative types through making a keepsake box to store tiny trinkets. All materials provided. For teens ages 12-17. Registration required. 

Teen ArtClub Wednesday, April 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. During art club, teens will have the option to either work on a special art project that will be determined each month or they can bring in their own personal projects from home. Teens are encouraged, but not required, to bring their sketch books to share with other members. For teens ages 12 - 17. Register here.

Family Storytime Saturday, March 15th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for Saturday Family  Story Time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a little bit of playtime. Drop In. Ages 2-7. Siblings Welcomed!

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, March 25th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4.

Namaste Yoga for "Littles" Wednesday, March 26th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Join Krista Boyer for a fun, interactive yoga class for children ages 2 to 6. Bring a mat or towel, bring a water bottle, wear your comfortable clothes and join us for a "zen" 45 minutes of relaxation for your little ones and their caregivers. No previous yoga experience required. Register here.
