Introduction to Bookbinding II with Laura Miller Saturday, April 12th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Continuing to build on basic bookbinding skills, this class will focus on sewn bindings for multi-signature books. We will complete two soft cover books: one with a coptic binding and one inspired by a 'long and link stitch' binding. This class is for advanced beginners, but bookbinding experience is not required, we will start with an overview of techniques and definitions as we quickly bind our instruction booklets with a basic pamphlet stitch. Register required.

Turning Lead into Gold: The Alchemy of Peer-Workshopping Your Poems Monday, April 14th from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Peer feedback can provide enormous value to the poetry revision process. But what is good workshop etiquette, and what is the difference between editing and revising? Why are we sometimes resistant to accept constructive criticism, as well as give honest feedback, and how can we overcome those obstacles? What makes a strong poem, and how can we ensure that both positive and negative feedback is constructive and actionable? Participants will come away with specific strategies and an understanding of the pillars of a successful peer workshop. Register here.

StoryWalk Grand Opening Tuesday, April 1st from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. We are so happy to celebrate our brand new StoryWalk® with everyone. Please join us for a ribbon cutting and some snacks and we can all enjoy the book, Prunella, by Beth Ferry, about a young gardener with a purple thumb. New Baby Meet-up Tuesday, April 1st from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your infant to the library for a casual meet-up and informal baby story time with other new parents. Teen ArtClub Wednesday, April 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. During art club, teens will have the option to either work on a special art project that will be determined each month or they can bring in their own personal projects from home. Hack a Painting Saturday, April 19th from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will choose a pre-existing painting and add their own flair to it! Paint over elements of the painting to transform it into your own piece. All supplies will be provided. For ages 10-14. Register here. 

Teen Poetry Writing Workshop Wednesday, April 23rd from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. April is National Poetry Month, so to celebrate the Trumbull Library is inviting teens to this creative writing workshop. Participants will be given access to materials in order to create a blackout poem, collage poem, concrete poem, and/or a haiku. Michele Urban Music Presents “Sing Me A Fairytale” Monday, March 31st from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. What really happened to the Three Little Pigs?!? You and your family will love this hilarious retelling of the classic tale of the Three Little Pigs.
