Using Your Trumbull Library Account Online Sunday, April 13th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Learn how to manage your borrower account online, either through a desktop computer or your phone. We’ll show you how to see what items you have checked out, renew items, pay fines, reset your PIN, and more. Register here. 

Bulbs: the Bold & the Beautiful Wednesday, April 16th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Elevate your garden practices with seasonal bulbs that add color and interest, both inside and outside your home. Walk through the calendar year and explore varieties, including less common choices; planting how-tos, after-care when blooms fade, and we’ll dispel worn-out myths. Join us as for this color-filled program that will ignite dreams of a bounty of bulbs for your garden displays. Register here. 

Trumbull Eats - Knead to Know Thursday, April 17th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Trumbull Eats is our monthly series of cooking demonstrations. At each class, a library staff member will demonstrate making 2 or 3 foods according to a theme. Samples and copies of the recipes will be provided. Times and days will rotate to allow everyone a chance to attend. This class is all about bread! We'll make a traditional sandwich loaf (hand-kneaded or using a dough hook) as well as an easy crusty bread using an overnight "no knead" method. Register here. 

Ebooks & Audiobooks With Your Library Card Saturday, April 19th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Trumbull Library System not only has books and DVDs, but also ebooks and audiobooks that you can access online. This session will show how to search for and check out these types of materials through Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla. Register here. 

DIY Upcycled Jewelry Saturday, April 19th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring already-owned jewelry that you can break apart to create a new earring, bracelet, or necklace. We will provide some tools (pliers, tweezers) and materials (beads, wire, chains, clasps) but feel free to bring anything else you'd like to use. Don't have any available jewelry to start with? Consider checking tag sales and thrift stores for low-cost costume jewelry and other materials. Other items such as brooches, keychains or pins can also work! Register here. 

Junk Journaling 101 Tuesday, April 22nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Discover the art of junk journaling, a hobby where the scrapbooking collides with the journaling universe! Have you ever started a journal just to stop because you had nothing to write about? Junk journaling is a great style of journaling that allows you to save down memories and be creative, without a pen in sight. Junk journals are made with a mix of found and recycled materials. Toddler Time (Walkers-3) Monday, April 14th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time Monday, April 14th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

New Baby Meet-up Tuesday, April 15th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your infant to the library for a casual meet-up and informal baby story time with other new parents. A perfect opportunity to meet other new parents, chat, compare experiences, find parenting resources, and get out with your new baby. We will serve light refreshments. No registration required. 

Things That Grow Craft Night Tuesday, April 15th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for some growing themed crafts! Ages 3-6. Registration is required. Please register only the child(ren) participating, NOT the adult.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, April 16th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Vacation Week Movie & Face Painting (All Ages) Wednesday, April 16th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come and join us at the library for a fun vacation week movie. We will watch The Wild Robot, rated PG. This 2024 adaptation of the book by Peter Brown has a running time of 1h 42m. Please bring something comfy to sit on. We will have Fun Ela come to do face painting before the show. Movie will start at 2 p.m. Due to room capacity regulations, registration is required.

Book Dragons Book Club Wednesday, April 16th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Book Dragons Book Club is for kids in grades 1 and 2. This month we are reading Zoey and Sassafras: Dragons and Marshmallows by Asia Citro. Read the book on your own and then join us at the library for a fun discussion, related activity, and snack.* First 10 kids to register may pick up a library copy of the book to borrow at the desk in the Children's Department. TEEN PROGRAMMING

Hack a Painting Saturday, April 19th from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will choose a pre-existing painting and add their own flair to it! Paint over elements of the painting to transform it into your own piece. All supplies will be provided. For ages 10-14. Register here. 

Teen Poetry Writing Workshop Wednesday, April 23rd from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. April is National Poetry Month, so to celebrate the Trumbull Library is inviting teens to this creative writing workshop. Participants will be given access to materials to create a blackout poem, collage poem, concrete poem, and/or a haiku. If you don't know what any of this means, you will be taught at the program! For teens ages 13-17. Register here. 

Introduction to Your College Application Essay Monday, April 28th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jason Howard is a CT certified teacher and tutor offering students and parents a free, detailed, interactive, "how-to" discussion of the five steps to a winning college essay: research, planning, brainstorming, writing and revising. The presentation is 45 minutes long followed by a 15-minute Q&A. During the presentation, students are encouraged to begin drafting their own essay. Register here.

Spring Music Extravaganza with Tom Weber Monday, April 14th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Start the Spring Season with Tom Weber and his "Growing" Band of Instruments! Tom’s performances are filled with interactive movement, props, singing, dancing, and lots of energy. His repertoire includes original songs as well as traditional favorites. Tom’s music is intended to get children moving, singing, feeling confident, and having fun! Registration required, all ages.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, April 15th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join Miss Niki for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-4.
