Legacy of a Wealthy Slave: A New Haven Story Saturday, April 26th from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. A historic true story about a man enslaved in Edenton, North Carolina, who after purchasing his freedom comes to New Haven, CT where he registers a patent for his invention, buys property, sends one son to Hopkins Day School and two to Yale University. And as the New York Times headline of his obituary indicated – died wealthy. Part of this compelling story is told in the newly released book by David Blight - Yale and Slavery: A History. Star Wars Day – Movie Sunday, May 4th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. It's Star Wars Day ("May the Fourth Be With You"), so join us for a showing of the first movie from 1977: "Star Wars: A New Hope." Themed refreshments will be provided, and we encourage you to dress up either in a full costume or just your favorite Star Wars t-shirt. We'll also have a "selfie station" with props that you can take photos with, which will be available before, during, and after the movie.
