Star Wars Day – Movie Sunday, May 4th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. It's Star Wars Day ("May the Fourth Be With You"), so join us for a showing of the first movie from 1977: "Star Wars: A New Hope." Themed refreshments will be provided, and we encourage you to dress up either in a full costume or just your favorite Star Wars t-shirt. We'll also have a "selfie station" with props that you can take photos with, which will be available before, during, and after the movie. Star Wars Day – Costume Contest Sunday, May 4th from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In honor of Star Wars Day ("May the Fourth Be With You"), we're having a costume contest. Come dressed as your favorite character or species from the Star Wars universe. We'll divide participants into age groups and the winner from each will get a prize. We'll also have a Star Wars "selfie station," with props that you can take photos with, available 1 p.m.-5 p.m. And consider arriving before the contest to join our showing of A New Hope. Silent Book Club Thursday, May 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Puzzle Competition Saturday, May 10th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. We invite you to join us for a competitive puzzle event at the main library! At this event there will be teams of up to four people. Every team will receive the same 500-piece puzzle and have 2 hours to complete it. If at the end of the two hours no one has finished, the team with the fewest remaining loose pieces will be crowned our winner. If you are registering with a team, please register everyone at once. If you are registering with less than four people, you may be combined with another team. Spectators are allowed but will need to remain behind a designated line in the room or teams will face a time penalty. Register here.
