Adult Programming

Holiday Trivia Tuesday, December 9th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come celebrate the holiday season with some festive Trivia. ‘Tis the season to be jolly and test your knowledge of the end of year holidays – from Christmas to Hanukkah to Kwanzaa and more, enjoy questions on traditions, food, music, movies and more revolving around this wonderful time of year. Come for the fun and holiday cheer, maybe even walk away with a prize. Register here. 

The Yarn Darlings Wednesday, December 10th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join our fiber arts group. Bring your knitting, crocheting, needle punching, needle felting, or any other yarn craft to work on while socializing with other crafters. All skill levels are welcome. Registration is requested for the group but not required. 

Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we read and discuss American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins in person at the Trumbull Library. We have a limited number of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch circulation desk. Register here!

Casual Craft Group Friday, December 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Do you enjoy crafting? Join us for Casual Crafters and meet other crafty people! Bring your current project, or start a new one, use available library craft supplies, meet other crafters, and help us create a crafting community! Join us for a relaxing drop-in program for adults. Registration encouraged but not required.

Classics Book Club Saturday, December 13th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Ever wanted to revisit a classic you read in school—or finally tackle one you've always meant to read? Join us for the new Classics Book Club. December selection is Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. Register here. 

Coastal Mix Holiday Concert Saturday, December 13th from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with an afternoon of festive music performed by Coastal Mix. This talented a cappella chorus will share seasonal favorites and a variety of other selections, offering a warm and joyful musical experience for all ages. Register here.

2025: A Year in Review with Film Critic Joe Meyers Tuesday, December 16th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Was 2025 a great year for movies? Join film critic Joe Meyers to talk about the best movies of the year and the very best reasons to head to the cinema this holiday season. Join us.

Silent Book Club Thursday, December 18th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Do you have trouble making time to read? Is your home full of distractions? Are you an introvert who still enjoys a chance to get out of the house? If any of these situations apply to you, come to a meeting of our own chapter of Silent Book Club. Unlike a traditional book club, there are no assigned readings and no deadlines. Bring a book of your own choosing, or pick out a new one at the library, and we’ll have an hour of silent reading time together. Light refreshments will also be provided, and you can also bring your own snacks or music to listen to (with headphones). Register here.

CHILDRENS

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Monday, December 8th from 10 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required.

Preschool Time (Age 3-5) Monday, December 8th from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Kristine for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Age 3) Tuesday, December 9th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Come and join us for some music and movement at the library! We will sing, dance, and read together. This is a drop-in program. No registration required. This program is held in the Community Room.

Baby Time (Birth-walking) Wednesday, December 10th from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to walking. Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform fingerplays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Time (Ages 3-5) Thursday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Katie for circle time, stories, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.

Book Dragons Book Club Thursday, December 11th from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. This month we will be discussing Disaster Squad: Blizzard Rescue by Rekha S. Rajan. Copies of the book will be available for check-out at the Children's Desk at the Main Branch. Registration is encouraged.

Miss Claudia Sings a Story Friday, December 12th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join Miss Claudia for a musical storytime! Ages 2-5. Younger/Older siblings welcome. Registration is not required.

TEEN PROGRAMMING

Study Skills 101 Tuesday, December 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In this session designed for 6th through 10th grade students, we’ll lay out study and management plans that will help you feel prepared and confident inside and outside the classroom. You’ll gain essential study skills to help you prepare for quizzes and tests and support you as your classes become more challenging. Register here. 

CT State Community College: Information and Q&A Wednesday, December 10th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. What are the CT State Community Colleges? Why should you consider attending one? How and when should you start applying? All these questions and more will be answered during this informational presentation. This program is open to anyone interested in attending college, whether they be tweens or teens thinking about their futures or older returning students. Registration is requested for an email reminder, but not required.

Tiny Tales 2s, 3s and 4s Tuesday, December 9th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories a little bit of music and a show stopping craft. Register here. Ages 2-4.

Krista’s Kids Yoga Wednesday, December 10th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Join Krista Boyer for a fun, interactive yoga class for children ages 3 to 6. Bring a mat or towel, bring a water bottle, wear your comfortable clothes and join us for a “zen” 30 minutes of relaxation for your little ones and their caregivers. No previous yoga experience required. Register here.
