Recycling and SustainabilityAre you cleaning out for back to school and the season change? Textiles such as clothing, shoes, linens, and accessories generate about 200 million pounds of trash in CT when many items can be donated for reuse or repurposing. Trumbull offers 2 textile recycling programs which accept items ranging from new to worn and torn past their useful life. All items should be bagged and clean. - Drop off used textiles to the Baystate bins at Hillcrest and Madison Middle School, and now at the Transfer Station.
- Curbside pickup available by contacting Helpsy.
Hillcrest Middle School students created informative videos on textile recycling last year as part of their climate change section in science. Their videos are available on the Sustainable Trumbull town YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@sustainabletrumbull For more information and a full list of accepted items, please visit the town website www.trumbull-ct.gov/936/Textile-Recycling-Program
