[ARCHIVED] Proclamation of Teacher Appreciation Week: May 1 to May 7, 2022

 WHEREAS, teachers change the lives of millions of children every day by unlocking their limitless potential to ensure they achieve their goals; and 

WHEREAS, teachers play a crucial role in shaping our children into the people they will become, supporting them through their youth and teaching lessons that have an impact on students they will carry through life; and 

WHEREAS, teachers spend countless hours outside of the regular school hours preparing, planning, individualizing lessons, and reviewing student work to ensure that students are learning according to the best methods for each individual; and 

WHEREAS, Trumbull teachers keep American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship; and  

WHEREAS, because of the increasing diversity of students, teachers must be constantly learning so they may adapt to meet the ever-changing needs of young people in our schools; and 

WHEREAS, teachers fill many roles, as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors; and 

WHEREAS, in these challenging times, the Town of Trumbull recognizes and appreciates how our town’s educators play such a pivotal role in our children’s lives now and continue to influence our children long after their school days are only memories;  

NOW, THEREFORE I, Vicki A. Tesoro, by virtue of the authority vested in me as First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, Connecticut do hereby proclaim May 1 through May 7, 2022 as Teacher Appreciation Week. 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Trumbull to be affixed on the 3rd day of May in the year 2022.
