[ARCHIVED] 2022-06-08: Trumbull Police Office Charged in Shelton Assault

The Trumbull Police Department is aware of the arrest of Sergeant Matthew Perkowski, by the Shelton Police Department, on Tuesday night, June 7, 2022, for an assault that occurred in 2020.

Perkowski was immediately placed on Administrative Leave by the Trumbull Police Department as a result of the criminal charges made against him, and his police powers have also been removed.

Trumbull Police Chief Michael Lombardo said, “The allegations contained in the Shelton Police arrest warrant will be reviewed and investigated by the Office of Internal Affairs in Trumbull to identify any violations of the department’s Code of

Conduct, and we will await the findings from the court. These accusations present a very serious personnel matter that will be handled appropriately.”

Any further information should be referred to the Shelton Police Department or Milford Superior Court.
